Fiorentina midfielder Stevan Jovetic is having an excellent season with his club, especially thanks to some decisive performances in the Champions League.
However, the young player admitted that he still has a long way to go before he can be really compared to some of the legends of the game, past and present, and that for the time being, he was happy to concentrate on doing well for his team, particularly in Wednesday's Champions League game against Hungarian side Debrecen.
"When I was little, I always dreamt of playing in a league like the Italian one," declared the Viola's player to sportmediaset.it.
"That's the reason I came here.
"I knew that Fiorentina was a great club, one of the greatest in Italy. The comparisons with [Lionel] Messi and [Roberto] Baggio please me, but I must still improve to arrive at their level.
"To be honest, I thought that Lyon and Liverpool were the favourites, but after our win against Liverpool, the issue is open."
Fiorentina currently have six points from three games played and are three points ahead of Liverpool as they prepare to face Debrecen at the Artemio Franchi stadium tomorrow.
