Roma midfielder Stefano Guberti has underlined the fighting spirit of the Giallorossi after a Marco Andreolli strike, deep into stoppage time, earned them a 1-1 draw at Fulham in a Europa League Group E clash.
“It was a deserved draw,” he told laroma24.it.
“It was crucial to emerge unscathed from this match.
“They did better than us in the first half, but we had a great second period. I think it was all down to our mentality. We didn’t want to surrender," he insisted.
“It is an important point, we are happy and will keep down this road.”
Guberti was handed a rare starting shirt in London, after an impressive substitute appearance against Milan last weekend.
“Yes, I am feeling fine and little by little I am gaining more confidence,” he mused.
“I just have to be ready when called upon.”
