Lazio striker Mauro Zarate has been ruled out of the clash with Juventus because of injury, according to his agent Luis Ruzzi.
The Argentine's fitness has been the subject of continued speculation over the course of the last few days, but it finally seems as if Davide Ballardini will have to do without him for tonight's game.
"He didn't train on Tuesday, had physiotherapy on Wednesday and Thursday and tried [to train] on Friday," Ruzzi told Radio Radio.
"Afterwards, he met with the medical staff and they said that in spite of [the injury] having recovered, there could still be a problem and seeing as there are so many games to play, it would be better not to risk it.
"They took this decision, which obviously didn't please Mauro, but it is normal for a man like him who always wants to play."
While Ballardini went along with the decision of the medical team, Zarate will reportedly not even be on the bench for tonight's game. Pasquale Foggia is expected to start up front alongside Julio Cruz for the Biancocelesti.
