Juventus have paid tribute to legendary Italian television presenter Mike Bongiorno, who passed away on Tuesday, aged 85.
News of the death has shocked the Calcio world. Sky Sport Italia claims Bongiorno, a passionate Juventus fan, suffered a heart attack in Monte Carlo earlier today.
The Bianconeri have now released a statement on their official website, paying tribute to the Italo-American.
The note by president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli on behalf of the club reads, "We have been hit by the news of the sudden death of Mike Bongiorno, a big Bianconeri supporter and friend.
"I unite with his family and share their pain and the whole of Italy's following the passing of a person who made Italian television history.
"Over the years he won a great deal of affection and esteem from many Juventus fans.
"Despite his busy schedules over the years, he was able to come and see us and watch our games when possible. His death has left a massive hole here and we will always remember him."
Bongiorno was presented with a special Juventus shirt by Alessandro Del Piero last season, when he went to Turin to watch his side play.
