While reports announcing that Lanus' Eduardo Salvio had signed for Fiorentina were premature, both the player's agent and now the Viola’s sporting director have revealed that talks are ongoing. Pantaleo Corvino has also added that the Serie A club are working towards the signing of Boca Juniors centre-back Ezequiel Munoz.
"They are two targets, but on our conditions," Corvino explained on Sportal.it. "They are important players."
The youngsters are two of Argentina's hottest properties, and Corvino is desperate to land at least one of the teenagers. Neither will come cheaply, however, as Salvio is valued at €10 million by Lanus, while Boca Juniors are demanding €12m for Munoz.
Fiorentina are also looking at Uruguayan international Diego Lugano, who is available on a free transfer. The start of the season is approaching fast, with a Champions League qualifier against Sporting Lisbon to come on Tuesday and an away fixture against Bologna to start the Serie A season the following weekend.
By the time the Gigliati face the Rossoblu, Corvino will be hoping to have secured at least one player's signature.
