On August 14, Inter will take part in the annual TIM Trofeo pre-season tournament, along with Juventus and Milan at the Stadio Adriatio in Pescara.
The three teams play every year, facing off in three 45 minute matches to prepare for the upcoming Serie A. However, coach Jose Mourinho has indicated many of his international stars will not take part.
"I must say the many national team matches will not allow me to work with the complete team in Pescara," he explained an interview with Inter Channel.
"After being in China [for the Italian Supercup], many players have been around the world from Moscow to Beijing, and therefore deserve a rest."
Instead, 'the Special One' is hoping to give some of his fringe players a chance to prove their worth.
"It will be an opportunity to give some space to the younger players, to compare them with our major rivals, and for those who did not play in the Supercup. For example, [Marco] Materazzi, [Walter] Samuel, [Patrick] Vieira, Mancini and Quaresma," he concluded.
