Genoa Interested In Lecce Defender Andrea Esposito

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has financed an ambitious transfer campaign this summer, acquiring the likes of Hernan Crespo, Sergio Floccari and Houssine Kharja. He has now revealed that the club's next target is promising Lecce defender Andrea Esposito.

"An amendment to the defence? We have [Salvatore] Bocchetti, who is good back there, but the departure of [Matteo] Ferrari is important," the club patron explained to RadioKissKiss.

"This explains why we are interested in Esposito of Lecce."

The 23-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in Serie A, including Roma and Fiorentina over the summer, but no moves have materialised.

Lecce have already announced that the centre-back will cost potential suitors in the region of €7 million. Overall, he made 28 appearances for the Salentini last season, but could not help them avoid relegation to Serie B.
