Former Milan and Juventus striker Jose Altafini believes Inter are the team to beat for the Scudetto this season, despite the Bianconeri's decent transfer campaign.
The last three years have seen the Beneamata forge their bond with the Scudetto even more strongly, and they, like Juve, have spent well this summer. Thiago Motta, Diego Milito and Lucio have all arrived to add muscle to the already powerful Nerazzurri. The Old Lady brought in Fabio Cannavaro, Diego and Felipe Melo. It's set to be an explosive season but Altafini believes Juve have their work cut out if they are to loosen Inter's Scudetto dominance.
"Looking at Juve's trident with Diego it seems good. Diego brings in plenty of variation and he will score plenty," Altafini told Sky Sport Italia.
"However, looking at Inter there is still a gap. Inter seem slightly better than Juventus and I think they are still the favourites for the Scudetto.
"Inter have one of the strongest defences I have seen and they are still the number one rivals for the title."
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri launched their new 2009/10 kits today while Alessandro Del Piero reportedly signed a two-year extension with the Old Lady.
