Inter star Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s outspoken agent, Mino Raiola, who grabbed plenty of column inches last month when the player kept hinting at an exit from the club, has been coy regarding rumours that his client could make a big move to Barcelona in the coming days.
Just when talk about the Swedish international leaving the Italian champions was starting to die down, reports emerged last night that Barca supremo Joan Laporta has met with his Inter counterpart to enquire after the striker’s availability.
Moratti has confirmed that discussions were centred around ‘Ibra’, and Spanish sources claim this morning that the parties are close to reaching an agreement, with the European champions expected to pay around €40 million plus hitman Samuel Eto’o and the loan of Belarusian midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb for the Swede.
“I am busy dealing with Maxwell’s transfer and that’s more important at the moment, then we’ll see,” the representative curtly replied to Calciomercato.it.
Raiola also represents the interests of Brazilian wing-back Maxwell, who is set to join the Spanish powerhouse for a reported €5m and is expected to undergo a medical today.
