Roma were in action against Blackburn Rovers last night in a pre-season friendly that ended 2-2 after 90 minutes. Penalties were required to separate the two sides, and the Giallorossi came out on top 3-1 in the shoot-out.
At the half-time interval, the Italian club’s technical director, Bruno Conti, discussed the recent reports surrounding Alberto Aquilani, and whether or not he will remain in Rome this coming season.
“Alberto is a young, but extremely experienced player, and he is really enjoying himself here in Brunico,” Conti affirmed in an interview with Mediaset.
“He is a great person to have around the club, and it is good for [Luciano] Spalletti to know that he has such quality players at his disposal.”
Conti closed the interview by saying that the Giallorossi were yet to be contacted by anyone for the talented 25-year-old.
He continued, “Aquilani is certain to remain with us, unless there was a club that wanted to speak to us about him.”
Liverpool are rumoured to be tracking the Italian midfielder.
