Inter youngster Davide Santon has joined the team for pre-season training in the United States and was asked a few questions about the coming season at Milan's Malpensa airport before departing for North America.
"My first goal is to increase the 20 appearances as a starter I collected last season. The second could be to play with the Italian national team next year [at the World Cup], but it's important to do well this year," he was quoted as saying by the Inter official website.
Coach Jose Mourinho recently claimed that he had expected a few more changes to be made in the Nerazzurri camp this summer and this was not his ideal side.
"Does Inter need some more tweaks? That's not for me to say," Santon explained.
"It is a club, with a squad that already is very strong. On our part, we should only strive to give our best."
The 18-year-old recently signed a new contract, tying him to the club until 2014.
