Livorno Ace Alessandro Diamanti Dreaming Of Inter Move

Press rumours suggested yesterday that Inter have enquired after Livorno star Alessandro Diamanti, however, the player refuses to be carried away by the speculation.

Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has reportedly slapped a €12 million price tag on the sought-after lefty fantasista, who helped the Tuscans secure an immediate return to the top flight last term with 12 goals.

“I am on holiday and I don’t really read the papers, but it’s pleasing when your worth is recognised,” Diamanti admitted to the Corriere dello Sport.

“[The fee of] €12m is a lot, maybe too much in such difficult times. Perhaps Spinelli set this price because he loves me very much.

“Just thinking about playing for Inter is a dream, but in my career I have been left disappointed one too many times and I will picture myself at a big club only after signing a contract.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could leave the Nerazzurri this summer, however, coach Jose Mourinho has pledged his future to the club. Diamanti is full of admiration for both men.

“Ibrahimovic is the best player in Serie A, along with [Milan’s Alexandre] Pato,” noted Diamanti.

“Mourinho is incredible and a great coach.

"I already know Milan because my wife has a house there. I want to give my all next season, no matter where I will play.

“I am not just a trequartista; I can play as a second striker, as a third striker… It’s enough for me to play, because I love football.”
