Patrick Vieira: I’ll Return To France If Inter Don’t Want Me

The Frenchman is considering going back to his homeland and awaits a decisive meeting with the Nerazzurri directors.
Inter boss Jose Mourinho has deemed Patrick Vieira surplus to requirements and the midfielder has been put on the market after making just 24 appearances last season.

French clubs Lyon and Paris St Germain are reportedly interested to bring him in and the ex-Arsenal star is eager to discover his future.

“I have to meet with the Inter officials to understand what they intend to do with me,” he told Le Parisien.

“As far as I am concerned, I just want to play, at Inter or elsewhere. I also have to see Mourinho to understand whether I am part of his plans or not. If that’s not the case, I’d prefer playing in Ligue 1.”

Vieira, who turned 33 this week, joined the Italian champions from Juventus in 2006, but his stay in Lombardy has been plagued by injury problems.

He earns €5.8million per year and Inter are apparently ready to release him on a free transfer despite the fact that he is tied to the club until June 2010.
