Catania have signed former Palermo goalkeeper Mariano Andujar from Argentinean side Estudiantes, the club have announced.
The 25-year-old stopper already has Serie A experience as he played for bitter rivals Palermo during the 2005/06 season, when he made 21 appearances for the Rosanero.
The Etnei have brought in Andujar as a replacement for Albano Bizzarri who is tipped to join Lazio.
A statement on the club's official website reads:
"Calcio Catania S.p.A would like to communicate the aquisition of Mariano Gonzalo Andujar from Club Estudiantes de La Plata.
"Andujar has signed a four year deal until 2013."
The financial details of the deal have not emerged. Catania will be hoping to add further players to their squad as new coach Gianluca Atzori aims for the European places.
