Fiorentina Have Not Received An Offer From Barcelona For Frey - Corvino

The Italian side have confirmed they have not received any sign of interest from the Catalan giants...
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has revealed that the club have not received any offers from Barcelona for goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

Reports in Spain on Monday claimed the Blaugrana were keen on the French stopper after negotiations with Victor Valdes seemed to have broken down over a contract renewal. It is said the goalkeeper wants a big increase in pay to bring him in line with other stars. But, the Spanish side do not want to acomodate his demands, leading to speculation they are looking towards the Fiorentina keeper.

But speculation it remains, it seems, as the Viola have not heard from them over their reported interest in Frey.

"Fiorentina have not received any request from Barcelona over Sebastien Frey, our intention is to keep him," Corvino told Sky Sport Italia.

The Italians have been linked with Real Madrid defender Royston Drenthe and Corvino admits he is working towards a possible deal.

"There is no point in denying that Drenthe is a player who interests us," concluded the director.
