Fabio Cannavaro Sponsors Mahamadou Diarra Move To Juventus

The Azzurri captain is ready to return to the line-up and believes that Diarra would be a great signing for Juventus...
Fabio Cannavaro returned to Juventus from Real Madrid this summer and he has responded positively to rumours that the Bianconeri are in the market for his former team-mate Mahamadou Diarra.

"He is a great friend. He has the right mentality and is not bad at all," he explained to the Corriere dello Sport.

Meanwhile, Cannavaro looks set to return to the Italy line-up for Thursday's Confederations Cup match against Egypt and insists he is ready, even if he's not the player he once was.

"The truth is that it is impossible for me to say I will return to the levels of the World Cup 2006," said the 35-year-old.

"However, there is a lot of room between that and being a poor player and I hope to prove tomorrow evening that I am still on the high-end."

The Azzurri captain will collect his 125th cap should he play tomorrow against the African champions. Italy currently lead Group Two on goal difference, tied on three points with Brazil.
