Lazio Star Cristian Ledesma’s Agent Invites Inter Bid

Lazio have agreed to sell the Argentine playmaker and his representative has told the Nerazzurri to come forward.
Cristian Ledesma’s adventure at Lazio is coming to an end as the midfielder turned down a contract extension to remain in the Eternal City, with his agent quick to urge Inter to place a bid for the player.

His current deal will expire in 2011 and his representatives have threatened to use FIFA’s Article 17 to sever all ties with the Aquile.

But the parties have now agreed to put away their swords and president Claudio Lotito has come to terms with the player’s choice.

“He is not a Lazio player anymore,” agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito admitted to FcInterNews.

“We communicated to president Lotito that we don’t intend to continue the sporting adventure with the Biancocelesti. Negotiations for a renewal did not even start and we made it known that we would not resort to the Article 17 out of gratitude towards Lazio.”

Ledesma has been frequently linked to Juventus in recent weeks and there are reports that Sevilla have offered Enzo Maresca in exchange for the 26-year-old, but D’Ippolito thinks his client would be perfect for Inter.

“We are looking for a team. There are Italian and foreign sides after him and something will come out of it,” he said.

“I think that given his characteristics and with [Patrick] Vieira on his way out of the club, Ledesma could suit [Jose] Mourinho’s style.

“He could definitely play alongside Thiago Motta and I truly hope Inter will show interest in us. How much is Ledesma worth? €15 million.”
