Garrone: Cassano Likely To Remain At Sampdoria

Sampdoria sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has claimed he is not joinng Juventus and this was confirmed by president Riccardo Garrone, who also discussed talisman Antonio Cassano.

"Marotta has the Blucerchiato blood, I talked to him and he said he has no intention of leaving Sampdoria," the club patron explained at an awards ceremony, according to tuttomercatoweb.

"It's clear that in recent years he has done very well and that more ambitious clubs are thinking of him."

Indeed, Marotta has managed to bring in key contributors like Angelo Palombo, Cristian Maggio, Giampaolo Pazzini, Fabio Quagliarella, Sergio Volpi, as well as Cassano over the years.

Meanwhile, Cassano has been linked with a move to Inter recently, after another successful campaign in Genoa. However, Garrone is almost certain he will stay put.

"There is a 95 percent chance he will remain at Samp," he concluded.

Garrone has been president of Sampdoria since 2002, his investments helping them take the club back into the top flight.
