Fabio Cannavaro is on his way out of Real Madrid, with a move back to Juventus seemingly inevitable at this point in time.
The 35-year-old defender has undergone a medical, meaning that his arrival in Turin is imminent. In fact, Cannavaro took part in the Partita Del Cuore charity match, which was played at the home of Juve, the Stadio Olimpico, last night.
Prior to the commencement of that match, Jean Claude Blanc revealed that the signing of papers would take place soon; however, to this point, an official announcement is yet to be made.
Despite this though, the general manager of the club remains upbeat about the situation.
“Cannavaro is an important acquisition for us, even though the fans still are emotional about when he left three years ago,” Blanc stressed in an interview with Tuttosport.
“We have set our sights on two purchases, and hopefully one can be closed today. The other [Diego] will be pushed forward by Alessio Secco with all of his determination, and we hope to announce it in the next few days.”
It could prove to be a busy week for the Old Lady, as she also sacked her coach, Claudio Ranieri, replacing him with Ciro Ferrara.
