Inter were re-crowned as champions of Italy at the weekend, following Milan’s failure to defeat Udinese at the Friuli stadium. The Nerazzurri managed to smash three goals past a hapless Siena outfit 24 hours later to celebrate the occasion in style.
Since the completion of that particular match, it has become
evident that the club are already looking to improve next season, and captain Javier Zanetti has been the latest to stress exactly that.
“We want to continue this brilliant run going next season,
and the way to do this is by holding onto our best players,” Zanetti declared
in an interview with Tuttosport.
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of these players, as he is simply
outstanding, and he can be decisive at all times.
“He is an important player who has proven this through the amount of goals he
has scored and through the amount of good games he has played.”
Genoa’s Diego Milito looks set to join the champions next
season, a move that may place even further doubt over the future of 'Ibra',
despite Zanetti’s words of praise for the Swedish superstar.
