According to reports from Brazil, former Inter star Adriano is about to join Flamengo.

Rumours have been circulating about which club he might join next, with some linking him with a move to Inter's cross-town rivals AC Milan, while others suggesting he intends to hang up his boots at just 27 years of age.

However, it seems that retirement is a remote possibility as according to reports in Brazil, he is about to seal a move to his former club Flamengo, and it could be just a matter of days before the deal is made official.

According to, the announcement of Adriano's arrival will be made at the start of next week, with the 'Emperor' due to resume training on May 11, after solving some problems in Milan.

The player's physical condition is not a worry for the club, as Dr. Jose Luiz Runco, who works for both Flamengo and the Brazilian national team, has already talked with the player's agent Gilmar Rinaldi to discuss the training program he should follow in the next few days.

Adriano spent his years as a youth player at Flamengo, and impressed during his first season at senior level, in 2000-2001. He was then bought by Inter, who first loaned him out to Fiorentina and Parma before taking him back in 2004.

He also played on loan at Sao Paulo in the second half of last season.
