AC Milan Midfielder Ambrosini Wants To Prove Mourinho Wrong

The 31-year-old hopes to make 'The Special One' eat his own words regarding the Scudetto, but admits it's likely too late...
Earlier this year, Inter boss Jose Mourinho claimed that Juventus, Roma, and Milan would not win any trophies this season. It seems he will be correct, unless the Rossoneri manage to cut the seven point deficit at the top of the table in the five matches remaining in the season.

"I'd like to think that in a few weeks, Mourinho may regret that he has spoken about no trophies [for Milan], even if at that time it was difficult we could aspire for the championship," midfielder Massimo Ambrosini said at the presentation of AC Milan official mobile website, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

"Now we are directly behind them, but like [Carlo] Ancelotti I believe the comeback is difficult, if not impossible."

Meanwhile, the player is still negotiating the renewal of his contract, that expires in June 2010 and is keen on remaining with the Rossoneri. "It is an attractive prospect, but I can't tell you anything right now. I think there will be no news until the end of the season," he explained.

Ambrosini has been with the Serie A giants since 1995 and has made 29 appearances for Milan in all competitions this season.
