Napoli have been dealt a major blow as star striker Ezequiel Lavezzi faces a two-week lay-off after suffering a muscular injury.
The Argentinean came off to a standing ovation during the 1-0 win against Inter on Sunday night. However, it's bad news as Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the hitman had scans on Monday morning which revealed a torn muscle in his left-leg, and he will have to miss two weeks of action.
The report suggests that Lavezzi will have a further examination during the week to monitor the progress of recovery. It's therefore highly unlikely he will be available for action against Siena on Sunday.
In addition, medics have told Lavezzi to rest for 20 days. In this case he will also miss the game against Lecce down at the Via Del Mare in two weeks' time.
It's not the news coach Roberto Donadoni wanted to hear as he sweats over the striker's injury. The result against the Nerazzurri saw Napoli rekindle their hopes of European football next season.
