Brazil coach Carlos Dunga admits he is unlikely to pick out-of-sorts Inter striker Adriano for the Confederations Cup in June.
The hitman has gone off on a tangent recently, staying in Brazil following the World Cup qualifiers last month.
Dunga believes Adriano needs to regain confidence and belief before he can return to a football pitch. The Selecao coach is disappointed with the striker, but he is hoping his man will pick himself up following all the confusion.
"Adriano needs to find the joy of playing again," Dunga told ANSA.it. “We hope he can return to playing soon.
"As for the Confederations Cup, it’s difficult to see him [playing] for Brazil."
Adriano has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Italy. His agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, is currently fighting to save his Inter career after the Italian champions threatened to rescind his contract last week.
