Juventus Striker Vincenzo Iaquinta Turns Focus On Coppa Italia

Juventus’ slim hopes of re-opening the Serie A title race faded away last night, as the Bianconeri drew 1-1 with Inter at the Stadio Olimpico, but Italian international forward Vincenzo Iaquinta insists they have no regrets.

“In spite of everything, we are pleased with this draw,” he told the Old Lady’s official website.

“Now we just have to keep going down this road until the end of the season, starting with Wednesday’s clash against Lazio.”

Inter took the lead through Mario Balotelli, but ten-man Juve managed to salvage a point at the death thanks to a Zdenek Grygera header from a corner.

“We had tried a certain kind of tactics during the week,” explained the 29-year-old.

“We wanted to keep the defense line higher and try to play through-balls for me.”

Juventus will host Lazio in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night and will have to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg to reach the final of the competition.
