Fiorentina attacker Stevan Jovetic has begun to blossom into an important player for his side as his performances are improving week after week.
On Sunday he was decisive as the Viola obtained all three points against Atalanta, and he hopes that he can continue on this path from now onwards.
"I'm very happy, I hope that this goal can be the first one in a long series and I want to dedicate it to the team, the fans and my family," declared the former Partizan player to Sky.
"I'm a forward, with the national team I said that I would like to play more like I think any player would want to, and therefore I hope that from now until the end I will do my best for Fiorentina."
Jovetic then revealed that it was not his decision to take the penalty kick which he eventually scored.
"It was the coach [Cesare Prandelli]'s decision," he explained. "Also with the national team I take them without any problem and even though [Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea] Consigli almost caught it, my shot was powerful and it went well."
Thanks to Jovetic's efforts, Fiorentina remain within two points of Genoa in the race for fourth spot and a berth in the Champions League.
