Alessandro Altobelli played for Inter between 1977 and 1988, making over 300 Serie A appearances for the club and scoring over 120 goals. The Nerazzurri legend now is a television pundit and has his eyes on his former team's highly-anticipated return-leg match against Manchester United in the Champions League.
"I will watch the match in Manchester with great interest. A place in the final eight will be decided between two teams of great value, however, I trust Inter can advance," the 53-year-old explained to Inter Channel.
Some have speculated that coach Jose Mourinho will play in a very defensive manner, including opposition boss Sir Alex Ferguson, but Altobelli does not believe that is the appropriate approach.
"We need to play a perfect match, but especially be focused on scoring right away, to apply pressure."
Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has failed to live up to expectations on the European stage during his career with the club and Altobelli believes the Swedish international must put in a good performance.
"For Ibrahimovic it will be a test of great maturity, but the whole team must give their best effort," he concluded.
Inter and Manchester United kick-off on Wednesday evening at Old Trafford.
