Christian Panucci Has Proven His Character To Roma – Agent

The veteran defender has apologised to his boss, leading his agent to declare that his client can still be of great use to the Giallorossi...
Following a reported personal apology to Roma coach Luciano Spalletti for his misbehaviour, Christian Panucci is set to be recalled to the Giallorossi squad for this weekend's match against Inter.

"I am very happy,” the player's agent, Oscar Darmiani, told romanews.eu. “Christian has proven to be a man. He is humble: he was wrong and [he has] apologised - even if it was a bit late.

"Christian is a proud guy and felt pity [for himself] after being excluded from the Champions League [squad]. Being able to get back [into the squad] is proof of his great intelligence and honesty. He can help Roma."

However, the agent remains doubtful that the former Italian international will extend his contract with the Giallorossi when it expires this June.

"Let's not confuse matters, nothing has changed in that regard," concluded Darmiani.

If the 35-year-old is called-up for the match against the Nerazzurri on Sunday, he could immediately be inserted into the staring line-up alongside Philippe Mexes in central defence. First choice centre-back Juan is a major doubt through injury.
