Juventus Star Pavel Nedved To Quit Football

'Czech Fury' has announced he will hang up his boots at the end of the season...

Juventus ace Pavel Nedved has finally made up his mind and revealed to UEFA.com that he will call it a day next summer.

“I will quit at the end of the season, regardless of our achievements in Serie A and the Champions League,” he admitted.

“I have come to a decision and that’s it. I don’t think I will change my mind, there is no need to do it, it’s the right moment.

“I am having fun, but I believe that it is time to make room for youngsters. They deserve to play. Perhaps you think I am still young, but I am 37 and I feel it’s truly the right time to quit.”

There were reports that Juve could offer the ex-Czech Republic international a pay-as-you-play-deal, but he allegedly rejected this offer and is now willing to spend more time with his family.

“I have talked about it with my wife and both made this decision,” he continued.

“She was tired too and I want to repay my family, I want to stay with them more, but I have yet to think about my future and I have never spoken [with anyone] about a role within Juventus.

“I just want to give my all in these remaining three months and hopefully end my career by winning the Champions League.”
