Bologna Director Hopes To Find Distracted Inter

Inter travel to Bologna this weekend after extending their lead on top of the Serie A table to nine points thanks to their victory in the Milan derby. Considering also that the Nerazzurri are facing  Manchester United just three days later in the first leg of their Champions League tie, it's likely they will leave out a number of star players.

Bologna general director Pier Giovanni Ricci hopes the league leaders will be distracted by this huge upcoming European clash during Saturday afternoon's match. And he also thinks coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, a former Inter assistant coach, will give his players extra motivation for this one.

"I hope Inter will already be thinking about the Champions League when they meet us," he told Radio Kiss Kiss. "Still, even without star names like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, they have so many talents that they certainly won't feel the absence of anyone. But I hope they will be distracted by the match against Manchester [United].

"For Mihajlovic it will be a special match, considering his past. He knows the opposition very well and that could help us."

Asked what formation he thinks Bologna will play in, Ricci said: "If I'm not mistaken, [Inter coach Jose] Mourinho trains behind closed doors, so I think we have to be cautious too and not reveal which players we will use."

Inter will be especially wary of top scorer Marco Di Vaio, who has made an impressive comeback at 32 years of age at Bologna, scoring 16 goals so far this season.
