Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia to miss Napoli clash

The Italy international has sustained a thigh injury in training, and will be unavailable for a while as a result meaning the player will miss this weekend's league fixture
Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has received some disappointing news from the treatment table in the build-up toward Sunday's Serie A match away against Napoli as he will have to make do without the services of defender Andrea Ranocchia due to a thigh injury.

The Italy international sustained the knock in Thursday morning's training session, and visited the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia afterwards to examine the injury.

Inter have now revealed on their official website that the centre-back has a grade two injury of the adductor brevis muscle in his right thigh, and will consequently be out of action for a while.

It is not yet exactly known how long Ranocchia will be sidelined, but the 24-year-old will definitely miss the match versus Napoli.

Sunday's meeting at the Stadio San Paolo kicks off at 20.45CET.
