Agent reveals Marco Borriello did not previously reject Juventus in favour of Roma

Marco Borriello’s agent has denied that the Roma striker previously rejected the opportunity to join Juventus.

The forward’s loan move to Turin is expected to be officially confirmed in the coming days but it has been claimed that he could have joined the Bianconeri from AC Milan in August of 2010 before linking up with the Giallorossi.

However, that is simply not the case, according to the player’s representative, Tiberio Cavalleri.

"Marco never refused Juve, under any circumstances," he told the Il Corriere dello Sport.

Cavalleri also insisted that Borriello is now intent on proving his worth to Juve over the next six months.

"Borriello will give the maximum and then, at the end of the season, they will decide if he deserves a permanent transfer,” he said.

Borriello’s imminent arrival at Juve is likely to mean even fewer opportunities for out-of-favour forward Vincenzo Iaquinta.

However, the 32-year-old's agent insists that he has no intention of jumping ship.

"There's no news for now,” Andrea D'Amico told Il Corriere dello Sport. “He is absolutely a Juventus player and has a contract for another year-and-a-half.

“The tactical choices belong to the coach, but it is important that the player gets back to 100 per cent.”

Iaquinta missed the start of the season with a thigh injury and, after slipping down the pecking order, has yet to make a single appearance for Juve this term.
