Agent Of Manchester United Striker Federico Macheda Claims Serie A Return Is Unlikely

Federico Macheda may not return to Serie A on loan from Manchester United as agent explores the scenarios...
Interest in Manchester United striker Federico Macheda from a host of Serie A clubs has been confirmed, but a loan move in January may struggle to take off, explains his agent Giuseppe Bonetto.

Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio have all been linked with the 19-year-old striker who is struggling for regular action at Old Trafford.

However, it seems none of the Italian clubs would be prepared to adopt the hitman on a loan deal, despite reports claiming Sir Alex Ferguson wants his man to gain experience elsewhere.

"My son [Marcello] and Giovanni Bia are looking at the situation carefully, but sometimes the papers in England react with exaggeration.

"There are many Italian clubs interested, but a straight loan deal will make things very complicated, but it will be Sir Alex Ferguson to decide."

Bonetto jr. yesterday admitted that they had not received any calls regarding Macheda.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims United may use Macheda as a way of convincing Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino to join them.

The club from Florence are believed to have an eye cast on Macheda, and there is some speculation the two parties could come to an agreement over a swap deal.

However, Ferguson has in the past spoken highly of the young forward, and it is thought that the club would be reluctant to let go of their hot prospect.

Gilardino has scored five goals in 14 appearances for Fiorentina in the Serie A this term.
