Player Ratings: Milan 3-1 Atalanta

Abbiati: 6.5 – Made a number of decent saves, but was also left inactive for large spells thanks to the impressive work by his entire backline.

Bonera: 5.5 –
Was shrugged off a little easily by Valdez as Atalanta looked to re-open the game.

T.Silva: 7 -
The Brazilian defender was calm, cool and collected at the back and continues to look at home alongside his expert defensive partner.

Nesta: 7 -
The central defender gave another commanding display at the back and deserves full merit for reducing the visitors to shooting from outside the box.

Jankulovski: 6 -
The full-back usually has a license to roam forward but did not make too many of his characteristic galloping runs.

Beckham: 7 -
He was full of running and energy and seemed to be enjoying himself out there with Dinho following an array of wonderful pinpoint passing moves.

Pirlo: 7 – The Italian put in a generous performance in the middle and seems to be in great shape in this crucial part of the season.

Ambrosini: 6.5 –
Gave a solid display in the middle of the park and kept the visitors away from goal for long spells of the match.

Ronaldinho: 7.5 –
Dinho pulled out some wonderful ‘samba stuff’ this afternoon to run rings around the Orobici backline. With two assists to his name, there is little more his coach can ask of the smiling Brazilian.

Borriello: 7 –
Showed great determination to poach Milan’s third inside the 6 yard box, shutting the door on any eventual Atalanta comeback.

Pato: 8 – ‘The Duck’ demonstrated his fine form with a super one-two which crushed Atalanta spirits shortly before the break. Extremely unlucky to be stretchered off in the second half after what looked like a nasty muscular tear.

Gattuso: 6 – Ringhio will be heartbroken after picking up the yellow card that will see him sit out next weekend’s crunch tie against Roma due to suspension.

Huntelaar: N/A – The Dutchman was given a late run out but was unable to make much impact as the Rossoneri looked to soak up the pressure.

Abate: N/A – Brought on late on with the victory already signed and sealed.

Consigli: 4.5 –
Beaten at the near post as he fumbled Pato’s opener. The usually reliable shot-stopper won’t be satisfied with the manner in which he allowed the Rossoneri to take the deadlock.

Garics: 5 - Kept Pato onside for the Milan’s second and should have stepped up with the rest of his backline to deny ‘The Duck’ a simple tap in.

Bianco 5 –
Will be ruing the manner in which he allowed Borriello to poach Milan’s third.

Manfredini: 6 – Did his best to make a last ditch challenge on Pato, but couldn’t stop the inevitable as Milan doubled their lead.

Bellini: 5 – Kept busy by a in-form Ronaldinho and will want to sit down after being turned inside out by the  Brazilian.

Pinto: 5.5 –
The Brazilian failed to make an impact in the opening 40 minutes and was forced off early after picking up a knock.

Padoin: 6 – Attempted a number of speculative shots from distance but failed to take command as the Rossoneri dominated the midfield.

De Ascentis: 5 –
Found it hard to contain the Rossoneri in the middle of the park and was often bypassed by Beckham and Dinho’s cross field passing.

Valdez: 7 – Looked menacing up top for the Orobici despite the lack of service from his midfield. Scored a cracker shortly after the break to reduce his side’s deficit showing great determination by shrugging off Nesta and Bonera.

Doni 5.5 -
The veteran tried to drag his team forward and gave Abbiati some regular food for thought with his trademark drives from distance.

Tiribocchi: 6 –
The former Lecce man deserves sufficiency for his relentless running but nevertheless caused few problems in front of goal.

Ceravolo: 6 – Came on for the injured Pinto but suffered the presence of a determined Gattuso.

Volpi: N/A –

Chevanton: N/A -
