Walter Mazzarri: Sampdoria Can Face Inter On The Same Level

Sampdoria coach Walter Mazzarri knows that against Inter, even a 3-0 lead might not be enough as he prepares for tomorrow's second leg encounter at San Siro.

However, Mazzarri knows that his team can play well against any other side when his players rise up for the occasion and he is hoping that this will be the case against the Nerazzurri.

"We can play this qualification on the same level, even against the best Italian team and against a great coach like [Jose] Mourinho," declared Mazzarri to the Corriere dello Sport.

"We need to play an intelligent game without any tension. We must therefore forget the 3-0  result of the first leg.

"We can hold the same attitude, but let's not go on the pitch thinking about the advantage we have. If we manage to isolate ourselves from all that confuses us, if we think exclusively about what we know how to do, then we can also obtain as important result."

For Sampdoria this semi-final is of huge importance as in Serie A they stand in 12th place with 40 points from 32 games played, far away from a UEFA Cup spot.
