Javier Zanetti: Inter Deserved To Win

Inter could have killed off the Scudetto race last night, but conceded a late equalizer to ten-man Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico, and captain Javier Zanetti could not hide his frustration after the final whistle.

“We are disappointed with this draw because Inter showed their superiority,” he told the Beneamata’s official website.

“From what you could see on the pitch, we should have won," claimed Inter's long-serving skipper.

"We dropped  two points, but we conceded very little at the back. We knew that Juve have dangerous players up front but we kept them at bay. They pressed us a lot, particularly in the first half, but Inter improved greatly after the interval.”

The result means that Juve still trail the leaders by ten points and Milan could draw level with the Bianconeri, if they beat Torino tonight.

“Milan's result won’t change our situation,” stressed ‘El Tractor’.

“We know that there is no chance for the others, if we do well.”

Inter will travel to Napoli next Sunday, where they lost 1-0 last term.
