Report: Napoli Prepare Big-Money Offer For Udinese Man Gaetano D’Agostino

Gaetano D’Agostino’s agent Franco Zavaglia admitted yesterday that Udinese have received a number of offers for his client and would not turn down a transfer to Napoli.

The Vesuviani have employed Walter Gargano in a playmaker role for the past two seasons, but the Uruguayan evidently lacks the qualities to pull the strings in the middle of the park.

New boss Roberto Donadoni has apparently identified D’Agostino as the right man for his new-look midfield and the Corriere dello Sport claims this morning that club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is prepared to break the bank to prise the Italian international from the Stadio Friuli.

It is suggested that the Campani will table a bid in the region of €10 million plus the other half of central defender Maurizio Domizzi’s contract.

Domizzi left the Azzurri for Udinese in a co-ownership deal on transfer deadline day last September, but the split was rather acrimonious and the centre-back is said to be unwilling to return to the San Paolo and wants a permanent move to the Friulans.

But Napoli could also make a move for Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, who is currently on loan at Udinese from Bellinzona.
