Turkey have been vulnerable at the back this evening and could be 3-0 down had Ramsey taken his earlier opportunities. Their best moment of the half came when Kaan Ayhan headed Cengiz Under's cross towards goal, but was denied by Joe Morrell on the line. Senol Gunes needs more from his team in the second half.
Aaron Ramsey has handed Wales a 1-0 lead over Turkey at the break of their Euro 2020 Group A clash. The Juventus midfielder spurned two good opportunities after being teed up by Gareth Bale. However, it was third time lucky for the pair as Bale's sublime ball over the top was converted by Ramsey with a neat finish. Robert Page's men have the advantage, but it's a slender one for now.

40' It has been an even game to date, and both teams face a crucial five-minute period before the interval.

24' CHANCE! RAMSEY HAS TO SCORE! The midfielder makes a late run behind the Turkey defence to latch onto Bale's incisive pass. He only has Cakir to beat, but he takes a poor first touch before blazing his strike over the bar. That's a poor miss from the Juventus man.
23' Zeki Celik responds with a run of his own down the right. He lifts a dangerous cross towards Yilmaz in the box, but it just evades the Lille forward.
22' James speeds past Zeki Celik down the left flank, latching on to a pass from Ramsey. He sends low ball towards Moore in the middle, but Ayhan on the slide diverts it into the hands of Cakir.

9' WIDE! Morrell brings down Calhanoglu and Turkey take the free-kick quickly. Under finds space down the right flank and delivers a low cross into the box. Yilmaz meets it first time, but Mepham gets across to divert it behind.
8' Wales are the first to threaten this afternoon and that will give them plenty of confidence to take the attack to Turkey.
6' SAVE! Cakir denies Ramsey with a fine block at his near post. Bale releases Ramsey through on goal in the left-inside channel. He produces a neat turn to beat the tackle of Soyuncu before striking low and hard towards goal, but the Turkey keeper holds firm to make the save.
5' Turkey come forward for the first time into the final third. Yilmaz latches on to a loose ball, only to scuff his attempt wide of the left post.
4' Davies stoops in the box to connect with a free-kick delivered into the box by James, but his effort travels harmlessly wide of the post.
3' Karaman fouls Roberts down the right flank and gives away a free-kick in a dangerous position.
2' Under looks for an early ball over the top for Yilmaz, but Roberts rises to nod the ball back to Ward.
1' We're under way in Baku.
This will be the first match between Turkey and Wales at a major tournament. Four of Turkey’s goals were netted by Hakan Sukur, while current Wales manager Page played for Wales that day.
Page resists the opportunity to make changes to his side from their draw against Switzerland. Moore retains his place as the spearhead of the attack, while Morrell remains in the middle of the park. There is still no spot for Wilson and Ampadu, who remain on the bench.
Turkey have made two changes to their side that was beaten in the opener by Italy. Demiral, who scored an own goal against the Azzurri, is dropped and is replaced in the backline by Ayhan. Yazici also makes way from the middle of the park and is replaced by Tufan.

Wales came from behind to earn a draw against Switzerland in their opener. Breel Embolo headed the Swiss in front, but Kieffer Moore answered earn his side a share of the spoils. Robert Page’s men know it will be a difficult task this afternoon, especially in hot temperatures in Baku. With their final game against Italy, Wales need a victory to firm up their hopes of reaching the knockout phase.
Turkey suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Italy in their opening match of the tournament and have to respond today. Senol Gunes’ men were taken apart in the second half by the Azzurri, and offered little in the final third to compete. A strong performance is required to pick up a positive result and to avoid leaving their fate in the hands of others in the final group game.
