Commentary

Thanks for joining us throughout the Champions League match between Sevilla and Lyon. That's all from us.
Full time in Sevilla. The hosts gain a victory they truly deserved, but in all honesty it should be more. Ben Yedder the difference between the two sides.
A number of added minutes at the Ramos Sanchez Pijuan stadium, but in all honesty is seems as if Sevilla are on course for their first win in this Champions League campaign.
Vitolo with another chance to kill the match as he smashes a volley over the crossbar. Sampaoli becomes even more animated on the side of the pitch, 
Sevilla seem a lot less keen to get forward in numbers now as they seek to see out a game they should have killed off about three times already this evening.

Last gasp clearance from Morel to hook a chip over Lopes from Vietto keeps the score at 1-0. The Sevilla striker will be wondering what he has to do to score tonight.
CROSSBAR! Once again Lyon striker the crossbar as Tolisso curls a wonderful effort past Rico, but like Fekir in the first half he can't hit the target.
Escudero drills an inviting cross into the six yard box as Vitolo ran as the Lyon defence and found the overlapping full-back, but unfortunately for Sevilla nobody was unable to connect with the effort.
Lyon are getting rather stretched now. It's wave after wave of Sevilla attack, but still the hosts haven't killed off a match they've been dominating.

Massive mistake at the back from Yanga-Mbiwa but Lopes comes to the rescue. For the second time in this match the Lyon goalkeeper is quick off his line to pounce at the feet of Vietto.
Ben Yedder continues to menace for Sevilla as the striker cuts inside onto his left foot to unleash a shot from range, but his effort is high and wide of Rico's goal.
An overload for Lyon on the left side as Rybus gets shifted the ball quickly, but the winger is unable to make anything of the situation as a tame cross is cleared by Mercado. 
Great combination play from Ben Yedder and Vietto once again, but a touch from Morel prevented the striker from gaining a fantastic opportunity to double the lead for the hosts.
Cornet looked like he had the chance to equalise for the visitors but Mercado slides in to prevent the striker from shooting on goal, awarding Lyon a corner in the process.

Nasri skips his way p[ast Cornet on a counter attack and almost crafts a perfect opportunity for the second goal of the match but his pass to Vietto is wayward.

Tolisso almost brings the score level quickly as he's played through by Fekir but Rico does exceptionally well to get down and to get a hand to the shot.
Swift passing in midfield allows Vitolo some room on the left to run at Gaspar, but the Champions League debutant does well to show the forward onto his weak foot.

Sevilla have come out of the blocks at half time brightly as they seek to find the opener most would argue they deserve. Will Lyon be able to hold?
First chance of the half goes the was of Nasri as the Frenchman fires from range but unfortunately for the hosts it's into the arms of Lopes.

Half time in at Sevilla and it's been a lively match. Ben Yedder has had the ball in the net and Fekir has struck the crossbar, but the score remains 0-0.
Gaspar does brilliantly to get around the Sevilla defence on the wing and cross into the box and poor goalkeeping from Rico almosts gifts a goal to Fekir but Escudero gets in the way of the play.
Half time approaches at the Ramos Sanchez Pizjuan stadium and somehow the score is still 0-0. Both sides look so hungry for the opener but the crowd haven't been blessed with it just yet!
Fekir is proving a real nuisance to the hosts when Lyon get forward. The striker curls another effort on goal but it's just wide of Rico's post. 
Dangerous free-kick for Sevilla approximately 30 yards from goal which Nasri whips in the box and almost wins a penalty for the home side as Vitolo goes to ground, but the referee waves play on.
Vital block from N'Koulou as a smooth transition from defence to attack from Sevilla almost grants Vietto with a glorious opportunity from a cut back provided by Ben Yedder.
N'Zonzi does brilliantly to win the ball in midfield and thread Vietto through into the Lyon box, but once again Yanga-Mbiwa stands firm and ushers the striker into a crowd of blue shirts.
Lyon's attacks may not be coming too often, but it must be said the French side look dangerous when they come forward. Sampaoli won't be completely satisfied with his team's defensive showing.
Vitolo does well with his back to goal as he turns swiftly a plays a pass to Nasri for the Frenchman to attack, but unfortunately for Sevilla the effort is wide of the mark.
Ben Yedder with another great opportunity which is pulled back by the linesman, but this time it's the fault of the striker as he times his run incorrectly from Vitolo's pass.
Sloppy defending from Sevilla allows Cornet to dance through to a shooting opportunity, but Rico is equal to the striker's effort as he puts the ball behind for a corner.
A poor pass back to Lopes makes life difficult for the Lyon goalkeeper as he stretches to keep the ball in and smash clear. Fortunately for the visitors N'Zonzi is unable to control the clearance smoothly.
After a frantic couple of minutes, it appears the match has gone down a notch in tempo, but with both sides keen to press high it's only a matter of time until we see the opening goal.
The home support erupts as Ben Yedder heads home for the hosts, but a fine spot from the linesman who noticed Escudero was offside as he overlapped and eventually crossed keeps the score at 0-0.
SAVE! A fine stop from Lopes to deny Vietto. A brave charge from the goalkeeper to dive at the feet of the striker to keep the scores level.
CHANCE! Fekir is played through behind the Sevilla defence but he scuffs his shot wide of Rico's goal. Another good opportunity for the away team.
Poor free-kick to give away from Lyon which Escudero whips deep into the visitors' box, but Vietto's hook back into the box is poor as he scuffs it out of play.
CHANCE! Lyon strike the crossbar as Fekir pounces on a mistake from N'Zonzi and Pareja to shoot from outside the box but he can't hit the target. 
Fantastic tempo to the start of this match as Vitolo and Nasri almost combine for a great goal but the former of the duo is unable to take the ball in his stride inside the Lyon box.
First corner of the game to Sevilla as N'Zonzi whips in an dangerous ball but it's headed away by the first blue shirt on the near post.
Sevilla are having a lengthy spell on the ball here but Lyon are displaying their organisation as they refuse to prevent chances for the Spanish side.
Nasri tries to worm his way through the Lyon defence on the left side as Sevilla threaten to press fast when on the ball but Yanga-Mbiwa stands up to him well.
Lyon start the match slightly brighter as they trouble down the left hand side and cross a dangerous free-kick into the box, but fortunately for the hosts they clear it with ease.

Both managers have clearly felt that wholescale changes are needed for their teams with Sampaoli going with seven for tonight's match and Genesio opting for five. Whether they reap the rewards remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Lyon will be looking to build on their 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, but with rocky form in Ligue 1 the visitors may have difficulty in Spain. 
Sevilla head into this match with Lyon coming off the back of a 3-1 loss at Athletic Club, but with a promising 0-0 draw in Turin for the opening matchday of the Champions League the hosts will be looking for victory.
