A smart finish from Foden inside the box doubled City's advantage before Haaland got his second of the game. He latched onto a rebounded shot from Foden to make it 3-0 before Dias got a late fourth in stoppage time.

It's difficult to say which team will be happier going into the tunnel. City have the lead, but have scored just once despite their dominance. They have had nine shots so far but just two on target, with the hosts defending well. Behind by just the solitary goal, Lopetegui will know that his side can still get something out of this game, but they must risk conceding another to get a goal themselves.
Manchester City lead at the break thanks to a goal from Haaland. Dominating the first half, the striker broke the deadlock after latching onto a cross from De Bruyne, who fired the ball across from the right to the unmarked striker. Sevilla have been forced to sit deep, having just two shots (none on target) in the opening 45 minutes.

35' Gomez looks for Haaland in the box with a low cross, but Carmona clears the ball away from danger.
32' Telles puts a corner in the box, with Grealish clearing the ball to the feet of Acuna. On the edge, the defender drills his low shot wide of the post.
