That's all for now though, goodbye!
The result means that Madrid move up to second - five points behind Atletico. Valencia, meanwhile, remain in 12th.
First half goals from Benzema and Kroos ensure that Real Madrid claim a simple 2-0 win over Valencia. This was comfortable for the hosts throughout, and they took the lead early on when Benzema whipped in a superb strike to beat Domenech from 20 yards. Valencia failed to muster a single shot in the first period and Madrid's dominance was underlined when Kroos doubled their lead just before half time, with a caressed finish. The second half was an understated affair as Valencia struggled to get back in the game and - if anything - it could have been a more convincing win for Madrid. VAR ruled out a goal from Mendy, while Benzema continually threatened. Nevertheless, Madrid will be pleased with a composed three points today.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Real Madrid 2-0 Valencia
90' + 3' Domenech spills Vazquez's cross, but there's no attacker on hand to punish the goalkeeper.
90' + 2' Madrid are confidently retaining possession as they close this one out.
90' Three minutes of stoppage time are added.
88' Another foray forward grinds to a halt for Valencia as Arribas works hard to come back and pick off a pass from Musah.
86' A free-kick for the away side falls to Racic inside the box, but he plants his volley well wide.
84' Madrid's dominance today has been underpinned by their defensive strength - Valencia have still yet to produce a single shot from inside the box.
P. Cutrone
M. Gómez
83' Gomez is swapped out for Cutrone after a tough day in attack for the away side.
81' Musah tracks back well to cut out Isco's switch to Vinicius and prevent further damage.
M. Díaz
K. Benzema
79' Meanwhile, Benzema is replaced by Mariano after a fantastic performance as the spearhead of this Madrid attack.
L. Modrić
79' Madrid make two changes with the game winding down. First, Modric comes off for Isco.
78' Chance for Mendy! Benzema finds the defender inside the six-yard box, but Mendy loses his footing at the crucial moment and Valencia clear. Nevertheless, the full-back is rampaging forward right now!
77' Domenech is called into action again, as he calmly dives to save Arribas' low effort from range.
75' Strong save from Domenech! Arribas picks out Benzema inside the box, and the striker advances ominously towards Gabriel, before switching onto his left foot and hammering an effort at the near post that Domenech instinctively blocks away!
73' Gameiro almost latches onto Racic's throughball, but Varane is there to stab it away from the attacker at the last moment.
Sergio Arribas
71' Asensio departs with Arribas taking his spot in attack.
70' Modric hits another long range shot, but it swings well wide.
68' The hosts continue to calmly knock it around the back as they attempt to lure Valencia out of their defensive shape.
66' Valencia have been a little more solid in this half, but they're still struggling to create anything. They'll be hoping that their second double switch will change this.
Lee Kang-In
D. Wass
63' Wass is replaced by Lee Kang-In on the left flank.
C. Oliva
Carlos Soler
63' Soler also makes way, with Oliva taking his place in midfield.
61' Madrid have a goal disallowed by VAR! Mendy has it in the back of the net after neat approach play from Vinicius, but after a check from VAR, the goal is ruled out as Mendy's heel was offside when he received the assist.
59' Madrid seem to have made it their mission to test Domenech from distance, and it's paid off today: nine of their 13 shots have come from outside the box, including both goals!
57' Valencia are beginning to show some intent as Musah drives inside from the left flank, before having a shot blocked bravely by Casemiro.
55' Kroos drills another one from distance, but thankfully for Domenech, this one skews well wide.
53' Valencia go close! The away side's first shot of the day almost finds it's way in, as Gomez slams a fierce effort from 25 yards that forces Courtois into an acrobatic save to tip it away!
51' Valencia continue to look lost as Correia dummies Soler's pass only to realise that there was no recipient waiting beyond him, meaning the ball runs wastefully out of play.
50' Asensio slaloms past Gaya and Ferro before having a 25-yard effort blocked away by Gabriel.
48' The second half has started in the same way the first ended - Madrid enjoy a series of corners as they begin to put Valencia under pressure.
Thierry Correia
Yellow Card
46' Correia is immediately booked for an exuberant but heavy challenge on Vinicius.
Y. Musah
Gonçalo Guedes
46' Guedes also departs with Musah taking his place.
K. Gameiro
Manu Vallejo
46' Valencia make a double substitution at half time, the first of which sees Vallejo make away for Gameiro in attack.
Real Madrid get the second half underway.
Valencia need an overhaul after that period - they showed little going forward and need to be more adventurous in the second 45.
Real Madrid capitalise on a dominant half to lead Valencia 2-0 at the break. The away side failed to manage a single shot in that half as Madrid dominated from the first whistle. The hosts quickly gained the lead when Benzema bent in a wonderful strike from 20 yards and - despite an injury to Carvajal - they never looked back. Benzema could have added to his tally on numerous occasions before Kroos drilled in a low finish to double Madrid's lead just before the interval.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: Real Madrid 2-0 Valencia
U. Račić
Yellow Card
44' Racic is booked for tripping Asensio to stop another Madrid attack.
Lucas Vázquez
42' Vazquez has replaced Carvajal well on the right flank and he helps put Madrid into a commanding position with a crisp pass to set up an excellent Kroos finish.
T. Kroos
42' KROOS! 2-0! Madrid slice through Valencia again as Vazquez cuts a precise pass back from the byline into Kroos on the edge of the box, where the midfielder passes his trademark low finish right into the bottom corner!
41' The resulting set-piece amounts to nothing as Valencia look to avoid any further damage before the break.
40' Domenech punches Modric's 25-yard drive away for a corner.
38' Vazquez's delicate cross is ever so slightly too high for Benzema and the striker climbs over Correia at the back post to head it high and wide.
36' Benzema comes close again! This time Asensio slams a brilliant delivery across the face of goal and Correia just does enough to put Benzema off as the striker narrowly avoids tapping it in!
34' Valencia have been pinned in by Madrid for most of the game and they've offered very little going forward - the away side have yet to muster a single shot.
32' Madrid haven't lost any fluency with the substitution of Carvajal - they're continuing to patiently pass through Valencia with ease.
30' Benzema almost grabs a second! Modric volleys Kroos' precise pass across the face of goal, where Benzema has a close range shot brilliantly blocked away by Gabriel!
Lucas Vázquez
28' Carvajal is replaced by Vazquez after suffering that injury.
Gonçalo Guedes
Yellow Card
27' Guedes is shown a yellow card after tripping a rampaging Varane to stop a counter-attack.
26' Carvajal pulls up after the ball ricochets into his knee and it appears as though he won't be able to continue.
24' Casemiro drives towards the edge of the box where he's halted by Ferro. The midfielder cries out for a free-kick but the referee waves play on.
22' Valencia are making a concerted effort to patiently hold onto possession right now, as they look to establish a foothold in this one.
20' A rare Valencia attack breaks down as Gomez fouls Nacho after aggressively attempting to reach Wass' cross.
18' Modric attempts to power a shot in from 18 yards, but it's charged down by Correia.
16' Madrid didn't have to apply much pressure to take the lead there. Even though they've had 75 per cent possession, they've only produced three shots - two of which came from outside the box.
14' Well, this has been the ideal start for Madrid. They'll be aiming to quickly add to their lead and shut this game down before Valencia can react.
T. Kroos
12' It was a regulation pass from Kroos out to Benzema, but the striker turned it into a goal with a brilliant run and finish!
K. Benzema
12' BENZEMA! 1-0! Madrid take an early lead as Kroos spreads the play out to the left flank, where Benzema drifts inside and past Correia before whipping a low shot from 20 yards across Domenech and into the bottom corner!
10' Nervous moment from Domenech! The Valencia goalkeeper misjudges Casemiro's drilled effort from distance and he dives past the ball, before flicking a leg out to divert the shot over the bar!
8' Valencia spring away on the break, but Casemiro manages to catch up with Vallejo before executing a precise slide challenge to poke it away from the attacker.
6' Madrid enjoy a long spell of possession in midfield as they settle into the game.
4' Wass smashes a vicious cross into the six-yard box, but it flashes past everyone and the hosts regroup with a throw-in.
2' Correia accidentally catches Benzema's ankle as the two battle for a high pass and the game is delayed briefly for treatment on the Madrid striker. It looks like Benzema should be able to continue though.
1' Valencia get the first half underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
