Madrid host Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday before travelling to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga next Monday evening. Girona welcome Athletic Bilbao to their corner of Catalonia on Friday night.
Girona earn a deserved point at the Santiago Bernabeu. It was Madrid who took the lead through Vinicius in the second half only for the visitors to equalise through Stuani from the spot with 10 minutes of the 90 remaining. The result helps Girona climb out of the bottom three, into 16th, and sees Madrid leapfrog Barcelona and regain the leadership of LaLiga.
90' + 8' Madrid are pushing for a last-minute winner.
90' + 6' Alaba is the player who takes the resulting free-kick - but his floated ball to Rudiger at the back post is mis-controlled and goes out for a goal kick.

82' Riquelme comes close to putting Girona ahead, only to fail to direct his effort on target following a smart ball from deep on the right side.
82' And now Madrid have a chance to regain the lead - Carvajal squares the ball from the right wing but Vinicius fails to connect with the cross.

Vinícius Júnior
Real Madrid
70' GOAL! Vinicius puts Madrid 1-0 up. A fine sequence of build-up play culminated with Valverde squaring the ball across the face of goal to find Vinicius at the back post - the Brazilian timed his run to perfection and easily converted his chance.
68' Kroos tries to arrow a free-kick into the box from the left side but it connects with nobody in the box and runs out of play for a goal kick.
66' CHANCE! Valery is put clean through on goal before drawing a fine save from Courtois. He was ruled offside but a VAR check would have seen a goal allowed, had he put it away.
64' Gutierrez has been withdrawn due to injury.

48' Madrid have started the second half with a desire to play with more intensity than in the first. They're moving the ball quicker.
46' We're back under way.
The atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabeu is flat, as it tends to be for afternoon kick-offs against smaller clubs. Madrid need to step things up a gear in the second half in order to liven the crowd up and increase the intensity in what's been a rather uninspiring encounter so far.
All square at the break here. Girona are good value for the draw - they've had the best chances in what's been a pretty low-intensity first half while Madrid have been largely restricted to shots from distance. Keeping the home side's attacking talent at arm's length throughout the second half, however, will be a challenge.
45' There will be two minutes of additional time at the end of this first half.
44' Girona will be very pleased with how this first half has gone.
42' Modric slides the ball through to find Rodrygo in space and inside the box, but his driven effort is blocked down by Lopez. The following corner comes to nothing.
40' Carvajal is back on his feet and play has resumed.
40' Carvajal is down and receiving treatment.
38' CHANCE! Valery does superbly down the left-side, out-muscling Carvajal, before squaring the ball to Herrera, who's arriving at the edge of the area. His shot rattles the crossbar.
38' Madrid try to speed up their play and funnel the ball out right to Carvajal. His cross, however, is cleared by Girona and the attack fizzles out.
36' There's a tangible sense of frustration at the Bernabeu. Madrid just haven't impressed in this first half.
34' Now it's Girona who win a corner following a clearance from Rudiger - but it comes to nothing.
32' Mendy wins a corner for Madrid after his left-footed cross was blocked down. Nothing comes of it, however.
30' Valverde tries to pick out Rodrygo with an excellent throughball - but the pass has too much weight on it and is collected by Gazzaniga before the Brazilian can latch on to it.
28' Romeu plays an incisive pass to find Gutierrez in space down the left flank - but Courtois comfortably saves the left-back's rather weak cross into the box.
26' Valverde tries his luck from just outside the box but his effort is easily claimed by Gazzaniga.
24' CHANCE! Rodrygo strikes the post. The ball comes to the Brazilian inside the area and he takes his effort first time - only for his right-footed finish to bounce off the upright.
22' Madrid take another shot from distance, Camavinga the man to pull the trigger once again from the edge of the area. His effort, however, is wide of the target.
20' CHANCE! Girona come close. Arnau crosses the ball into the box from deep on the right side to find Valery, who had timed his run to perfection. His header, however, flashes just wide.
18' Madrid have seen most of the ball so far but they're failing to break Girona down.
16' Girona's determination to play out from the back almost costs them when Gazzaniga is nearly caught on the ball by Rodrgyo - but the Argentinian manages to clear his lines.
14' The atmosphere at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu - as it often is for afternoon kick-offs - is rather flat. Madrid haven't given them anything to shout about.
12' Madrid have a task ahead of themselves to break down Girona - the visitors are playing in a low block and are defending compactly.
10' CHANCE! Rodrygo opens his body and shoots from the edge of the penalty area, drawing a fingertip save from Gazzaniga. The following corner, however, comes to nothing.
8' Girona aren't afraid to play the ball short. They've already played themselves out of some tight situations.
6' Girona break with intent down the right flank - but when Castellanos tries to pull the ball back across goal Camavinga is there to intercept the danger.
4' Camavinga - deputising for compatriot Tchouameni in that holding role - tries his luck from distance. The Frenchman receives the ball on his favoured left foot at the edge of the box but his effort fails to work the goalkeeper.
3' And now Girona have a chance of their own. Castellanos shoots from a similar area to Modric - but like the Croatian his first-time finish fails to test the goalkeeper.
2' Madrid start well and nearly take an early lead. A slick move culminates with Carvajal squaring the ball for Modric inside the box - but his effort flashes just wide of the target.
1' We're under way here at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Girona are a side with very different ambitions to Madrid. They've just been promoted from Segunda and are focused on trying to avoid relegation at the first time of asking. The Catalan side are currently second from bottom in 19th having taken nine points from their opening eleven games. Should they secure an unlikely away victory at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, or even take a point, they'll climb out of the bottom three and climb as high as 16th.
Madrid are in the midst of a good moment. They're currently second in La Liga having taken 31 points from their opening 11 fixtures. Barcelona are currently ahead of them on goal difference - but they've played a game more than their great rivals from the Spanish capital. Madrid will regain first place should they win or draw against Girona.
