K. Benzema (16)
G. Bale (35)
Cristiano Ronaldo (38)
Alexis (70)
Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

In the end it was a comfortable victory for Real Madrid, who were easily able to see off their opponents thanks to a wonderful first-half performance. They took their foot off the pedal somewhat in the second period and were made to pay by Alexis, but that was the only negative in what will be largely seen as a positive result for the under-pressure title chasers.
Getafe attempt to push forward on what will surely be their last attacking move of the game. They work the ball around patiently before trying to penetrate the Real Madrid penalty area, but they're unable to do so before the referee brings an end to the game.
Late chance for Sarabia! Leon flies forward towards the edge of the Real Madrid penalty area before spinning and teeing up the aforementioned number 10, who immediately unleashes a low strike from 25 yards out that Navas does well to stop with a diving save.
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
Jese drifts out to the left-hand side of the penalty and picks up the ball before curling a cross into the middle of the pitch, but it's sent too near to Guaita, who is easily able to cut out the danger as a result.
Real Madrid
Almost 40 minutes after first getting ready to come on, Arbeloa finally enters the field of play to replace Pepe.
Kroos finds himself in space just outside of the Getafe penalty area and decides to unleash a thumping shot, but it's sent straight into the hands of Guaita, who has had very little to deal with during the second half.
It's now Getafe that are bossing possession, but they are finding it impossible to beat the sea of white shirts camped in front of them. It's now just a case of them holding on to the end of the game whilst trying to avoid falling further behind.
Real Madrid seem content to keep hold of possession as they look to keep Getafe at bay. With a three-goal lead intact and with less than 10 minutes left to play, it looks unlikely that the visitors will be able to cause them any further problems now that the hosts are sitting far deeper than they were before.
B. Mensah
Víctor Rodríguez
And now Getafe have made their final change, with Mensah coming on to replace Rodriguez for the final 10 minutes.
K. Benzema
Real Madrid
Benzema receives a rousing applause from the Real Madrid fans as he makes his way off the pitch to be replaced by Jese.
Ronaldo twists and turns on the right-hand side of the penalty area as he tries to beat Lago, but he just can't seem to beat the right-back before firing a fierce strike straight into the face of Alexis, sending the goalscorer straight to the ground.
Leon twists and turns on the right flank before earning his side another corner. Once again it's sent towards Alexis but this time Pepe is able to beat the centre-back to the ball.
The Real Madrid fans aren't happy with what they are seeing at the moment. Despite the fact that their side a 4-1 ahead, they don't like the fact that Getafe are continuing to boss possession in the middle of the pitch, even if the visitors are doing little with it.
Pedro León
That was a great cross by Leon, and he did well to pick out Alexis in an extremely dangerous position in front of goal.
GOAL! Getafe have pulled one back! The visitors push forward once again and earn themselves a corner on the right wing. It's curled into the heart of the Real Madrid penalty area, where Alexis easily beats his marker before beating Navas with a wonderful header. Game on?
Getafe are finally able to push forward, with Lafita looking bright with the ball at his feet. He does well to weave through a group of Real Madrid players before teeing up Suarez, but the right-back is dispossessed by a well-timed sliding tackle from Danilo.
No matter what they try to do, Getafe just can't seem to break out of their own half of the pitch. Every time they try to do so, Real Madrid quickly win back possession and push forward on another dangerous attack.
Real Madrid patiently work the ball around deep inside the Getafe half of the pitch as they attempt to find a way through the sea of blue shirts in front of them. James Rodriguez is eventually able to find space on the left wing before curling a cross into the box, where it's meet by the outstretched foot of Cala.
M. Kovačić
L. Modrić
Real Madrid
Meanwhile, Kovacic comes on to replace Modric for the final half-an-hour.
Pedro León
Getafe have made their second change, with Wanderson making way for Leon.
Getafe break forward on a quick counter-attack, with Lafita doing particularly well down the right flank. He pushes down the wing before curling a dangerous cross into the middle of the Real Madrid penalty area, but Navas is there to deal with it.
Pepe catches the foot of Scepovic with a poorly-timed challenge, resulting in a free kick for Getafe in a dangerous position on the left wing. The resulting set-piece is flung into the heart of the penalty area, but it's easily cut out by Navas before it can find a blue shirt.
The pace of the game has slowed down somewhat, as Real Madrid seem to have taken their foot off the pedal somewhat. Getafe are trying to push further up the field but are finding it hard to do so due to solid defending from the hosts.
Bale and Ronaldo link up well on the edge of the Getafe penalty area and play a quick one-two between one another, but just as he's about to penetrate the box the Portuguese has his run halted by Cala.
Modric flies down the right wing on an excellent run before trying to cut the ball over to Ronaldo, but his pass is hit slightly too far in front of the Portuguese forward and is cut out by Alexis.
Danilo comes back onto the pitch and is immediately involved in the action as he charges down the left wing with the ball at his feet before teeing up Modric, but the Croatian is quickly dispossessed by Victor Rodriguez deep inside the Getafe half of the pitch.
Play gets underway once again as Danilo receives treatment on the side of the pitch. Arbeloa is stripped and ready to go but it looks as if the Brazilian wants to keep playing.
Danilo has gone down in a heap on the ground next to the touchline and looks to be really struggling with an injury to his right foot. Arbeloa is getting ready and it seems as if he's going to come on to replace the Brazilian.
Chance for Benzema! A lofted pass forward from Bale almost finds Ronaldo but is headed away by Cala on the edge of the penalty area. The defender's clearance can only find the aforementioned striker, however, but he ends up curling his 25-yard strike several yards over the top of the crossbar.
And we're underway once again!
S. Šćepović
Álvaro Vázquez
Getafe have made one substitution during the half-time break, with Alvaro Vazquez making way for Scepovic.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
It's been an absolutely dominant performance from Real Madrid thus far, and that's exactly what they would have wanted after suffering such a disappointing two weeks. Getafe have barely managed to break out of their own half of the pitch and have failed to deal with the hosts' forward line, who have bullied them from start to finish. If they don't make any tactical changes soon, this could end up being an incredibly long afternoon for the visitors...
Getafe push forward on a half-hearted attack down the left wing, but they're quickly closed down by the Real Madrid midfield, who drop deep quickly to force the visitors into aimlessly passing the ball around before the referee brings an end to the first half.
Bale almost makes it 5-0! A dangerous cross from Rodriguez is poorly dealt with by Guaita, who unconvincingly punches the ball up into the air and into the feet of the aforementioned Welshman. He spins quickly before unleashing a low strike, but it ends up rolling agonisingly wide of the far post.
Ronaldo twists and turns on the left wing and narrowly avoids losing the ball to Suarez before charging towards the byline and cutting a pass back towards Kroos. It almost finds the German but, despite his best efforts, he's unable to make contact with it on the edge of the penalty area.
This is turning into an absolute rout, and Getafe will just be desperate to get to half-time without conceding any more goals. They have looked incredibly disjointed at the back and in the centre of the pitch, where Real Madrid's midfielders are dominating the game and finding so much joy on the ball.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid
GOAL! Real Madrid are running riot! Cristiano Ronaldo finally gets on the scoresheet, with the home fans overjoyed at this first-half performance! The Portuguese forward is picked out overlapping on the right-hand side, before he places a low finish across Guaita and into the far corner! The goalkeeper really could have done better there!
T. Kroos
Real Madrid
Assist Toni Kroos
Yellow Card
Real Madrid
Sarabia breaks down the right wing before being clattered into by Danilo, who receives the first yellow card of the game as a result.
G. Bale
Real Madrid
GOAL! Real Madrid increase their lead! A cross is hung up to the back post from the left-hand side, with Cristiano Ronaldo rising highest to nod a header down towards Bale. The Welshman jinked inside his man, before lashing a low finish just inside the left-hand upright from close range! Emphatic stuff!
Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid
Assist Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro
Bale drives his way down the right flank, before trying to jink inside Lago and cause some problems! The left-back and Alexis stand firm to deny the Welshman, however! Real Madrid are pushing forward relentlessly during this first half in the capital city.
The referee takes his time and sorts out the wall for the aforementioned free kick, which Ronaldo stands over menacingly. The Portugal international sends a low, dipping drive across goal, but Guaita is just about content to let the effort skip off the Bernabeu turf and just shy of his left-hand upright!
Real Madrid retain the ball with ease, with Escriba's men happy to sit deep with a back five. Play is opened out to the left-hand side, before Cristiano Ronaldo cuts back in from out wide and gets fouled by Lacen. The Getafe midfielder gets a warning for his trouble.
Getafe push forward once again and this time are able to finally test Navas, but the strike is half-hearted and, as a result, it's easily stopped by the Real Madrid goalkeeper.
After spending the vast majority of the first half on the back foot, Getafe are finally able to push forward on their first real attacking move of the game. Suarez picks up the ball in a dangerous position on the right wing but brings a promising attack to a disappointing conclusion with a wild strike that flies well wide of the Real Madrid goal.
Bale goes close! Lucas Vazquez, who has been one of Real Madrid's best players thus far, knocks the ball over to the aforementioned Welshman, who, 25 yards away from the Getafe goal, immediately unleashes a thumping strike that beats Guaita before flying just wide of the near post.
Lovely play by Bale! The Welshman flies down the right wing and hits a dangerous cross towards the back post but, much to his frustration, there's nobody there to meet it and it fails to result in a third goal for Real Madrid.
Once again, Benzema finds space inside the Getafe penalty area before spinning and trying to tee up Ronaldo. His pass looks set to find the Portuguese forward but Cala is there to cut out the danger before clearing the ball.
Real Madrid immediately go on the front foot once again after winning the ball back from the restart. Modric is playing an increasingly important role as he pulls the strings in the heart of the pitch.
G. Bale
Real Madrid
Bale did well to pick out Benzema, but questions have to be asked of the Getafe defence, as they were at sixes and sevens yet again.
K. Benzema
Real Madrid
GOAL! And now it's 2-0! Once again, Benzema finds himself in space inside the Getafe penalty area and takes advantage of sloppy defending to double Real Madrid's lead with a thumping strike into the bottom corner of the net.
Cheeky effort by Lucas Vazquez! The winger, who is playing as a right-back today, finds himself in space down the wing and quickly unleashes an audacious cross-cum-shot towards the top left-hand corner of the net. It almost catches out Guaita, but the goalkeeper does well to stop the effort at the vital moment.
As expected, it's all Real Madrid at the moment as they patiently move the ball around deep inside the Getafe half of the pitch. The visitors have barely managed break past the halfway line due to the pressure being exerted on them by the hosts, who look determined to push forward as often as possible.
What a save by Guaita! Bale shows great skill on the edge of the Getafe penalty area to bring the ball down before spinning and teeing up James Rodriguez. The Colombian immediately curls a wonderful cross into the middle of the box, where it finds Benzema, but the striker's bullet header is brilliantly tipped over the top of the crossbar from point-blank range.
Getafe do well to deal with the resulting corner before trying to break away on a counter-attack, but Lafita is immediately put under pressure and ends up running the ball out of play near the halfway line.
Real Madrid win themselves another free kick after Benzema is clumsily clipped by Alexis just outside of the Getafe penalty area on the left flank. Ronaldo steps and unleashes a curling strike that Guaita does well to push it round the far post.
Getafe immediately push forward from the restart and break down the left wing before earning themselves the first corner of the game. It's flung into a dangerous position inside the Real Madrid penalty area but is dealt with well by the hosts, who fly forward on a quick counter-attack through Modric before the Croatian is fouled midway inside the visitors' half of the pitch.
Real Madrid
That was a lovely cross by Pepe, who perfectly picked out Benzema after showing good understanding with Lucas Vazquez.
K. Benzema
Real Madrid
GOAL! Real Madrid have taken the lead! Lucas Vazquez and Pepe link up well on the right wing before the latter curls a beautiful pass across the face of goal. It flies past the Getafe defence before meeting Benzema, who coolly volleys the ball into the back of the net from close range to make it 1-0 to the hosts.
After a patient start by Real Madrid, Lucas Vazquez charges down the right flank before sending a deep curling cross towards the far post. It's brought down well by James Rodriguez, who then tries to beat Suarez, but the Uruguayan does well to win the ball off the Colombian before clearing the danger.
And we're off! Getafe get us underway, attacking from right to left.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
Meanwhile, Getafe boss Fran Escriba has made 10 alterations to the side that featured in the 2-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday, with Alexis being the only player to start both games.
Rafael Benitez has decided to make seven changes to the Real Madrid side that controversially won against Cadiz during the week, with only Pepe, Nacho, James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez keeping their places in a heavily-altered line-up that sees the club’s biggest stars return to the limelight.

Getafe XI (4-2-3-1): Guaita; Suarez, Cala, Alexis, Lago; Wanderson, Lacen; Sarabia, Victor Rodriguez, Lafita; Alvaro Vazquez.
Real Madrid substitutes: Casilla, Arbeloa, Llorente, Casemiro, Kovacic, Cheryshev, Jese.
Real Madrid XI (4-2-3-1): Navas; Vazquez, Pepe, Nacho, Danilo; Modric, Kroos; James Rodriguez, Bale, Ronaldo; Benzema.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
It’s been almost three and a half years since Getafe last beat Real Madrid, but they will be hoping to take advantage of the off-the-field issues that are currently plaguing their opponents and turn them into what would be a shock win. Recent history doesn’t hold out much hope for them, however, as Los Blancos have comfortably won all of the last five meetings between the two sides, scoring a whopping 21 goals in the process. However, with so much pressure being exerted on the 32-time league champions, anything could happen…
Heading into today’s game, Benitez has been clear that the Spanish Football Federation’s decision has not been on his mind and that his sights are firmly set on a clash against a side that, on paper, they should comfortably beat. They could definitely do with the victory too, as back-to-back league defeats against Sevilla and Barcelona have left them sitting six points behind the latter side in third place, with their local rivals Atletico Madrid, who are in action against struggling Granada later this afternoon, lying two points in front.
It’s been a difficult two weeks for Real Madrid, who were first thrashed in embarrassing fashion by arch rivals Barcelona before a sloppy error resulted in them fielding an ineligible player in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey victory against Cadiz. Denis Cheryshev played from the start, and scored the opening goal, in a 3-1 victory against the third-tier side, but it was quickly realised that he shouldn’t have been playing due to the three yellow cards he accumulated in last season’s competition whilst on loan at Villarreal. As a result, last night saw Los Blancos get chucked out of the tournament, piling further pressure on beleaguered boss Rafael Benitez.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s La Liga game between Real Madrid and Getafe at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
