Commentary

That’s all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
PSG extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to five points and they will look to make it seven league wins on the bounce when they face Metz on Wednesday. Meanwhile Lyon remain ninth and they are up against Troyes next time out.
PSG score a late winner against Lyon maintain their winning start to the season, with Icardi the hero in added time. It was goalless at the break, but PSG should have been ahead, with Messi having two excellent opportunities, but he was denied by Lopes and the woodwork. Lyon then shocked the hosts by opening the scoring on 54 minutes, when Paqueta fired the ball into the back of the net, beating Donnarumma at his near post. However, it didn’t take long for PSG to hit back, with Neymar converting from the penalty spot to equalise, before Icardi came off the bench to make it 2-1 in the 93rd minute.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: PSG 2-1 LYON
K. Mbappé
Assist
90' + 3' Mbappe drove forward down the left wing and chipped the ball into the box for an unmarked Icardi, who headed it home, making no mistakes with the finish.
M. Icardi
Goal
90' + 3' GOAL! Icardi surely wins it for PSG in stoppage time! They kept pressing forward and finally got their reward, with Icardi heading home Mbappe’s cross from close range, with Lopes having no chance of saving that. Excellent header from the striker and it looks like PSG will clinch all three points now, it’s 2-1!
90' + 2' Lyon are just slowing the pace of the game down whenever they can now, taking their time with any set pieces and throw-ins and they are really frustrating the PSG players and supporters.
90' There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played at the end of the second half.
Nuno Mendes
Yellow Card
89' Mendes is booked after he deliberately stops Cherki in his tracks after the Lyon man sprinted past him on the counter-attack.
88' The Lyon defence are holding firm at the moment, preventing PSG from creating any significant chances in the final third to test Lopes.
G. Wijnaldum
Ander Herrera
86' Late PSG change as well, with Herrera making way for Wijnaldum.
H. Keita
Lucas Paquetá
86' It looks like Paqueta has picked up a knock, so he comes off and Keita is on in his place.
84' As it stands, this would be the first time that PSG have dropped points this season, having won all of their opening Ligue 1 games. Meanwhile Lyon would make it four games unbeaten.
M. Icardi
Á. Di María
82' Another PSG change now in an attempt to go on and score a winning goal. Di Maria is the man to come off and he has been replaced by Icardi.
Anthony Lopes
Yellow Card
80' Lopes is booked for timewasting, after taking too long with a goal-kick. It looks like Lyon might be trying to hang on for a point.
R. Cherki
X. Shaqiri
79' Another Lyon change now, with Shaqiri the man to come off and he has been replaced by Cherki.
78' There is just over 10 minutes, plus any additional time added on left to play here. Can either side nick a late winner to clinch all three points?
A. Hakimi
L. Messi
76' PSG make their first change of the game, with Messi the man coming off and he has been replaced by Hakimi.
75' PSG have won their last five Ligue 1 home games, after losing their previous three. The league leaders have scored four goals in each of their last three games at Parc des Princes.
73' Problem here for Guimaraes after a collision with Neymar and he then seems to injure himself by firing an effort towards goal. The medical staff are on the pitch giving him some treatment, but it looks like he may be able to run this one off.
71' Not too far away! Lyon go on the attack and Guimaraes finds some time and space on the edge of the box to fire a shot at goal. However, he gets too much on it and the ball flies over the bar.
69' Neymar whips a quick corner into the penalty area, looking for Marquinhos at the near post. However, the defender can't quite reach it and the ball flies across goal and away to safety.
Marquinhos
Yellow Card
67' Marquinhos is booked for a foul on the Lyon goalscorer Paqueta. The PSG skipper will have to be careful for the remainder of the game now.
Neymar
Penalty Goal
66' GOAL! Neymar makes it 1-1 from the penalty spot! The striker watches and waits for Lopes to make a move, before coolly sliding the ball into the other side of the net. He had a while to wait due to the Lyon changes, so it was great composure by Neymar to convert.
H. Aouar
K. Toko Ekambi
65' The other Lyon change sees Toko Ekambi replaced by Aouar.
S. Diomandé
J. Boateng
65' Lyon make a double substitution ahead of the penalty, with Boateng the first to come off and he has been replaced by Diomande.
63' PSG PENALTY! Great opportunity for PSG to get back into the game now as they are awarded a penalty after Neymar takes on Gusto in the box and the full-back makes a late challenge and brings him down. The referee shows no hesitation and points to the spot.
62' Lyon have started to sit a bit deeper now since going ahead, just soaking up the pressure. They need to be careful not to just try and see the game out as there is still plenty of time left on the clock for PSG to score.
60' The PSG supporters are certainly still behind their team, urging them forward by making a huge amount of noise inside the Parc des Princes.
58' Lyon have lost only twice in their 21 Ligue 1 away games since the start of the last season (W12 D7), no team in the top-flight all over that spell have been defeated less often.
56' It will be interesting to see how quickly PSG can respond to going a goal behind as they have been on top for the majority of the game. Will they make some changes?
K. Toko Ekambi
Assist
54' Toko Ekambi did brilliantly to spot the run of his team-mate in the box, getting ahead of Kimpembe and the winger found him perfectly.
Lucas Paquetá
Goal
54' GOAL! Lyon take the lead, Paqueta fires them ahead! They switch the ball nicely, with Toko Ekambi finding space down the left wing and he sprints forward, before playing an excellent pass into the path of Paqueta, who gets ahead of Kimpembe and fires a first-time shot into the bottom right corner of the net. Donnarumma couldn't get down quickly enough to stop it. Excellent finish and Lyon lead 1-0!
52' Over the bar! Neymar steps up to take a free-kick from distance, but he gets too much on the effort and it flies high over the crossbar, not troubling Lopes.
51' Free-kick to PSG in a decent position, around 35 yards out, so maybe too far out for an attempt on goal, but Neymar and Messi still seem to fancy a go. Can they test Lopes?
50' Messi is starting to drop a bit deeper in order to get on the ball and try and influence the game. He has been PSG's best player so far, having a few chances on goal and carving out some opportunities.
48' PSG are controlling the opening stages of the second half so far, looking to catch PSG out with the pace of their front three. However the visitors are standing firm at the moment.
46' The second half is under way!
Lyon have defended well for the most part, with Lopes in fine form in goal, but they haven’t tested Donnarumma at the other end, with Slimani hardly touching the ball up front.
It’s goalless at the break between PSG and Lyon, but the hosts have gone close on a few occasions to opening the scoring, with Messi the key man for PSG so far. Lopes has twice been called into action to deny Messi, with the second a brilliant save with his legs to turn a shot around the post. However, the keeper just had to stand and watch as Messi whipped a free-kick towards goal from 30 yards out and it flew towards the top right corner of the net, but the woodwork saved Lyon that time.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: PSG 0-0 LYON
45' + 1' Lyon whip a low corner into the penalty area and it is met at the near post by Paqueta, but his shot lacks enough pace to beat Donnarumma, who makes a comfortable stop.
45' There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played at the end of the first half.
43' Lyon have won only once in their last 13 Ligue 1 away games at PSG (D2 L10) – though it was their most recent visit in December 2020 (1-0).
41' There isn’t long left to play before the end of the first half, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?
39' PSG are starting to increase the tempo now as we approach half-time in search of the opening goal. They've certainly gone the closest to scoring so far here.
37' OFF THE POST! Messi steps up to take a free-kick from around 30 yards out and he gets it up and over the Lyon wall and it appears to be heading into the top right corner of the net, with Lopes beaten. However, it clatters against the woodwork. So unlucky!
36' Brief stoppage as Neymar receives some treatment for an injury, but it looks like he will be fine to continue momentarily.
34' Free-kick to PSG in a very good shooting position after Neymar is tripped by Shaqiri around 30 yards out, before being clattered into by a team-mate. It looks like Messi is going to take the set piece.
32' CLOSE! PSG catch Lyon out at the back with Neymar breaking through after a long ball over the top and he sprints into the penalty area, before backheeling it to Messi, who only has Lopes to beat and he tries to find the bottom right corner of the net. However, the keeper makes himself big and produces an excellent save with his legs to turn it around the post. PSG should be ahead!
31' We’re past the half an hour mark now and it remains goalless between PSG and Lyon, with Messi going the closest so far, but his effort wasn't good enough to beat Lopes.
29' Slimani hasn't been able to get involved much for Lyon so far, the striker has had the least amount of touches on the ball for the visitors, even less than Lopes in goal!
27' The PSG medical team are on the pitch again to give some treatment to Donnarumma after he comes out to punch a free-kick and gets clattered into by Boateng, who also needs some attention. Hopefully both players will be fine to continue shortly.
25' Mbappe has scored eight goals against Lyon in Ligue 1, against no current top-flight team has he found the net more often. He scored his 100th Ligue 1 goal in his last game with Paris against Lyon back in March.
23' Decent effort! PSG counter quickly and the ball comes out to Di Maria down the right wing, he cuts inside and fires a curling effort towards goal. However, Denayer gets across and makes a great block to turn the ball behind for a corner.
21' Free-kick to Lyon now after Mbappe blocks a pass from Shaqiri with his arm and this hands the visitors a decent opportunity to get players forward and test Donnarumma in the PSG goal.
19' PSG are dominating possession at the moment, keeping it well in midfield, but Lyon are pressing them high up the pitch and not allowing them much time on the ball.
17' CHANCE! Excellent link up play between Messi and Mbappe on the edge of the penalty area, quick one touch football, which opened up the Lyon defence, with Mbappe laying it off to Messi, who fires a low effort towards goal. However, it lacked enough pace to beat Lopes, who makes a good save.
15' Mbappe tries to break away on the counter-attack, but he gets crowded out and goes down after flicking the ball past Boateng. It didn't look like there was much contact from the defender, but the referee awards a free-kick and surprisingly no yellow card.
13' Neither side are yet to test the two keepers, with much of the play in midfield and away from the final thirds, with nothing significant created in front of goal just yet.
11' PSG have started a Ligue 1 season with five straight wins for the third time in their history, after 2017/18 and 2018/19, going on to be champions in each of these campaigns.
9' Good effort! Di Maria finds time and space just inside the penalty area and works the ball onto his left foot, before drilling a low effort towards goal. However, the strike is too close to Lopes, who gets down quickly and makes a good stop.
8' Caqueret is now receiving some treatment after the challenge by Di Maria a few moments earlier. It looked like a painful one, but he should be fine to continue.
6' Almost! Messi takes a corner short for PSG and sends it out to Herrara around 30 yards out. The midfielder then chips the ball back into the box for Messi, who takes a touch and tries to get a shot away, but Denayer is quickly across to make the block.
Á. Di María
Yellow Card
6' Di Maria is shown the first yellow card of the game after he loses control of the ball and dives into a challenge with Caqueret, stamping on the midfielders foot.
4' Donnarumma is down receiving some medical treatment at the moment after Slimani accidentally stood on his hand as the keeper went to block a cross. However, it looks like he will be fine to continue.
3' Decent chance! Lyon work the ball well into the final third, but a low cross into the penalty area is well cut out by Marquinhos and the rebound falls to Caqueret on the edge of the box. However, his effort flies high over the crossbar.
2' The PSG supporters are in fine voice early on and are clearly enjoying themselves, but they've let a few flares off in the stands, which is making the visibility quite poor at the moment.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
