Darius Msagha, Benjamin Mosha and Shaban Kenga were particularly wasteful with the chances created by the Dockers.
Felix Ochieng wasted two opportunities for Posta Rangers - one after he fumbled a counter-attack and another in which he was robbed of the ball by Fred Nkata just as he was about to shoot.
Msagha had the first real chance for Bandari in the fourth minute after dispossessing Posta Rangers’ Herit Mungai just outside the box. Msagha’s effort slid just wide of target as the visitors looked to have settled in the match earlier than the home team.
A combination between Mwama Yema and William Wadri opened the Posta Rangers back line, but keeper Gradus Ochieng was alert to the threat and thwarted any damage the Bandari duo could inflict on his team.
Posta Rangers won a free-kick in a very promising area in the 16th minute and Brian Osumba’s accurate delivery was cleared by Moses Mudavadi, who headed the ball away from Bandari’s box.
Wadri worked hard to play a defense-splitting pass to Mwama, who was quick to intercept the ball on the right flank only for the assistant referee to stop his run by raising the offside flag.
Coach Bernard Mwalala made a double-change in the 46th minute, withdrawing Shaban Kenga and Darius Msagha, whose places were taken by Abdalla Hassan and Benjamin Mosha.
Mwalala wanted to rejig his striking department after the missed opportunities in the first half.
Wadri headed the ball straight into Ochieng’s waiting hands in the 62nd minute after Mwama from the right flank delivered the ball into Posta Rangers box.
Nkata reacted on time to stop Felix Ochieng, who leading a Posta Rangers counter-attack, but Ochieng kept the ball for too long instead of releasing Francis Nambute on the opposite flank in the 78th minute.
