Osasuna v Barcelona Live Commentary, 08/11/2022

1 - 2
David García (6)
Pedri (48)
Raphinha (85)
Estadio El Sadar

Barca can now enjoy the World Cup break knowing their top spot in LaLiga is secure. If their luck stays this way, they can be confident of staying there until the end of the season. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Barca's win extends their lead at the top of LaLiga to five points for now. Xavi's men had just nine shots here, their lowest total in a LaLiga game all season, but crucially took their two best chances. Osasuna stay sixth. This is the first league game at home they've lost after leading at half-time since August 2012. Who was that to? Barca, of course.
Barca have escaped Pamplona with an unlikely comeback win! The visitors went in at half-time 1-0 down and down to 10 men after Lewandowski's dismissal. However, they've snatched a victory thanks to their substitute Raphinha's late, sumptuous header. Osasuna will be very disappointed not to have drawn this game at least.
90' + 4' Osasuna grab a corner, and one last opportunity to equalise. They take it short, but the cross, when it comes, dips harmlessly wide of Ter Stegen's goal. The Barca goalkeeper takes the goal-kick, and that's it!
90' + 3' Raphinha dribbles skilfully into Osasuna's box, twisting this way and that to earn Barca a corner. They take it short, and Fati beats two defenders to fire high and wide with his left foot.
90' + 1' There'll be four more minutes of this game at least. Busquets gets in the way of Moncayola's smashed shot to concede a corner. Barca see it out.
C. Riad
89' Barca make a substitution to defend their lead. Their teenage centre-back Riad replaces Pedri, the scorer of their equaliser.
88' Osasuna aren't getting desperate yet, but they're running out of time to score again. Budimir heads wide from Barja's cross.
87' Barca have scored eight goals via substitutes in LaLiga this season, more than any other team. The Catalans' strength in depth might well have bailed them out of jail here.
F. de Jong
85' De Jong's pass was clever, but Raphinha's looping finish was even more so. Fernandez wasn't expecting it at all. From being a goal and a man up, Osasuna now have to come from behind!
85' GOAL! OSASUNA 1-2 BARCELONA! This could be a smash-and-grab for Barca! Raphinha beats the hosts' offside trap to reach de Jong's pass over the top and nod it first time past the stranded Fernandez!
Kike Barja
Moi Gómez
83' Gomez is the next Osasuna player to make way. Barja takes his place on the wing.
A. Budimir
E. Ávila
83' Osasuna substitution. Budimir replaces Avila, who'd livened up since the break.
81' Barca successfully defend another Osasuna attack. You can see why Xavi's switched things up. The Catalans have done very little in an attacking sense since their equaliser.
79' Osasuna threaten to score a second goal as Kike Garcia reaches Pena's cross to hit the side netting from the right of the six-yard box. The crowd roars, briefly thinking his shot's crept in, but it hasn't.
O. Dembélé
78' Dembele leaves the pitch too. Raphinha takes his place in Barca's forward line.
Ansu Fati
Ferran Torres
78' Barca make further changes. The hardworking Torres goes off. Fati replaces him.
77' Kike Garcia heads Vidal's cross over. Up the other end, Dembele fires in a left-footed cross that Fernandez has to punch clear.
Rubén Peña
Rubén García
74' Ruben Garcia gets the last 15 minutes off too. Pena takes his place down Osasuna's right.
D. Brašanac
Aimar Oroz
74' Osasuna make a change too. Their Serbian midfielder Brasanac comes on for Oroz.
A. Christensen
74' Barca make their first substitution. It's an attacking one. Gavi replaces Christensen.
74' Dembele tricks his way into Osasuna's box. The Frenchman shoots but it's from too far wide to threaten Fernandez.
72' Ter Stegen kicks clear as Osasuna attempt to force Barca's defenders into a mistake. Both teams are about to make changes.
70' Osasuna send the corner in. Their goalscorer David Garcia has a header blocked. They try to keep the pressure on Barca, but can't keep the ball in play.
68' Chance for Osasuna! Avila receives the ball out wide, checks onto his right foot and surprisingly lashes at goal. Ter Stegen has no choice but to tip the venomous shot out for a corner.
Alejandro Balde
Yellow Card
66' Balde barges into the back of Avila and is promptly booked. The Osasuna man's been more involved in the game since moving wide.
65' Xavi speaks with his assistants in the technical area. Barca have done well to level things up but have done little since then.
63' Avila, who's moved to Osasuna's left flank, fires another dangerous cross towards Barca's box. This time, it doesn't result in a shot.
Yellow Card
61' Moncayola's the latest player to see yellow for nibbling at Balde's heels.
60' Kike Garcia connects with Avila's cross and forces Ter Stegen to make a routine save.
Kike García
Lucas Torró
59' Osasuna wisely take Torro out of the firing line. On comes Kike Garcia for his 200th LaLiga appearance.
58' Torro brings down De Jong. Xavi appeals for the Osasuna man to see a second yellow card, but the referee's showing leniency.
56' Avila tries to reach Cruz's throughball but he's offside.
Lucas Torró
Yellow Card
54' Torro's booked for a poor challenge on Torres, who's keeping himself busy for Barca up front.
52' Osasuna are trying to make their man advantage count. Torro gets the ball from Oroz and fires high and wide from outside the box.
50' That's Pedri's third LaLiga goal of the season. Barca have scored in their last 13 league games now. They're slowly getting back to their best.
48' GOAL! OSASUNA 1-1 BARCELONA! Pedri hauls the visitors level with a smart finish! Alba's left-wing cross causes confusion in Osasuna's box. The 19-year-old arrives first to the rebound to lash it into the bottom left corner.
David García
Yellow Card
46' David Garcia starts the half by getting himself booked for tugging Torres' shirt. Barca's free-kick is uneventful.
46' Barca get the second half started. Neither team's made any changes yet.
Osasuna have won all four LaLiga games they've led at half-time this season. Avila had just nine touches in that first half, but his team-mates have been doing the business. Despite going down to 10 men, Barca still ended the half with 62 per cent possession. They can salvage a result here if they can keep the ball in the second half.
Pique argues with the referee as everyone heads in for the half-time break. Osasuna are playing well, staying organised after taking an early lead through David Garcia's header. Lewandowski's sending off for two silly yellow cards has left Barca in the lurch. More to come!
Red Card
45' + 4' RED CARD FOR PIQUE! The Barca substitute receives a red card for haranguing the officials! He won't be making one last appearance for the club after all. That's a sorry way for his long playing career to end.
45' + 4' Osasuna successfully survive Barca's free-kick from the right, as well as another corner. They've been very solid so far.
Juan Cruz
Yellow Card
45' + 3' Cruz stretches out a leg to reach the ball and catches Dembele in the proces. The Osasuna left-back's shown the yellow card.
45' + 1' Torres puts the ball in the net for Barca but the offside flag goes up. He strayed just offside as he timed his run to reach Alba's low cross. Gomez has a shot blocked up the other end. There'll be four added minutes before the break.
45' Osasuna manage to deal with the corner. They'll be pleased with their first-half performance.
44' Dembele cuts inside from the right and smashes the ball against a defender with his left foot. Barca have another corner.
43' Osasuna pen Barca into their own third for a bit. Pedri gallops free into space down the left but quickly finds his path to goal blocked off.
41' David Garcia's defensive header hands Barca a corner down their left. Torres heads De Jong's delivery over at the far post.
39' Osasuna move the ball from side to side, looking to capitalise on their new-found space on the flanks. Torro gets it in the middle and blasts a hopeful shot into the stands.
Jordi Alba
Yellow Card
37' Alba picks up a yellow card for dissent after Pedri's fouled by Moncayola. Barca can't afford to lose their discipline.
37' Barca are playing a 4-3-2 formation to try to keep control in midfield. They're conceding the flanks to Osasuna though, as the hosts fling a few unsuccessful crosses into the box.
35' Balde concedes a free-kick by nudging Cruz in the back while the pair challenge for a header.
33' Osasuna can afford to be bolder now they're playing against 10 men. Oroz is caught offside as he goes after Moncayola's throughball.
30' RED CARD FOR LEWANDOWSKI! The referee shows him his second yellow card, so he has to go off! The Poland international protests but he knew exactly what he was doing when he whacked David Garcia. It's bad news for him, and for Barca.
30' Lewandowski dives into an aerial challenge with David Garcia with his arm! This could be bad for the Barca striker...
28' Ter Stegen gets his hands to a wicked Osasuna cross from the left. The Basque side are countering down the flanks at every opportunity.
26' Chance for Barca! Lewandowski receives the ball to his feet in the centre of the box. The Poland striker curls it towards the bottom right corner. Fernandez dives the right way to push the shot aside.
25' Barca are finding Osasuna hard to break down at the moment. Arrasate's men are very well-drilled defensively.
23' Fernandez unconvincingly punches the ball out of his box. Balde picks up the pieces and fires wide with his left foot from the D.
21' Osasuna enjoy some time on the ball before Cruz's pass down the line doesn't work out. Arrasate waves to give his players some tactical instructions.
19' Fernandez claims Torres' flick up into the air from the byline.
17' Torres is unfortunate not to get on the end of a cross from the right. Barca have had almost 70 per cent possession so far.
15' Osasuna get a decent chance to double their lead as Gomez slips Avila into the left of the box. The Argentine lashes into the side netting.
13' Pedri wins a free-kick in Osasuna's half as he's checked by Torro. Osasuna are making life difficult for the visitors.
R. Lewandowski
Yellow Card
11' Lewandowski picks up an early booking for a rather agricultural challenge on Vidal.
10' Barca look to respond quickly, forcing two corners. From the second, Torres heads wide from Alba's cross.
8' Osasuna have avoided defeat in their last 18 LaLiga matches when scoring the opening goal, dating back to January this year. Barca have a job on their hands to turn this game around already.
Rubén García
6' Ruben Garcia can claim the assist there for his great corner delivery. Barca are unhappy with some jostling that went on in the build-up to the goal, but the officials aren't swayed. The goal stands!
David García
6' GOAL! OSASUNA 1-0 BARCELONA! What a start for the Basque side! Ruben Garcia's corner comes in and David Garcia connects with a low, powerful header. His centre-back partner Unai Garcia lets it run through his legs and into the bottom right corner!
5' Chance for Osasuna! Barca play themselves into trouble at the back and the hosts win possession on the edge of the box. Moncayola has a shot blocked, as does Ruben Garcia, before the former's wilder effort deflects out for a corner.
3' Barca get settled in possession early on. Osasuna are looking compact in their 4-4-2 shape.
1' Osasuna get both teams' last league match before the World Cup underway!
This would usually be a Barca win. Osasuna have won just one of their last 12 LaLiga matches against Barca, who are unbeaten in their last six visits. However, the hosts are in great form, and have lost just one home game to the Catalans under Jagoba Arrasate. This could be awkward for the visitors.
Barca make just one change from the weekend. Christensen starts ahead of the retiring Pique, who may come on to play his last match for the club.
There are four changes to Osasuna from their win over Celta. Vidal, Cruz, Moncayola and Ruben Garcia come into the starting 11.

Barca made it four wins on the spin last weekend against Almeria to send them top of the league table. The Catalans have taken 34 points from their first 13 games, their joint-fourth highest tally at this stage of a top-flight campaign, and have conceded a mere four goals. Xavi's men have started as they mean to go on.
Osasuna continued their strong start to the season last time out with a 2-1 away win over Celta Vigo, leaving them sixth as this game kicks off. The side from Pamplona have picked up five wins from their seven home games in LaLiga so far, their highest tally at this stage of a campaign since 2005-06 when they finished fourth. How they'd love to repeat that finish again.
