Commentary

That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
Despite all that drama, it's Gianluigi Buffon who steals the headlines for his world-class performance, making three game-saving stops to deny Lacazette, Fekir and Tolisso.
Juan Cuadrado scored off the bench as the 10-man Bianconeri stun Les Gones at the Grand Stade, with Mario Lemina seeing red for Juventus and Alexandre Lacazette missing a first-half penalty for Lyon.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: LYON 0-1 JUVENTUS.
90' + 2' THAT WAS THE CHANCE! Credit to Lyon who continue to fight despite really having nothing go their way in this match. Juventus have sucked the life out of this match, but the hosts have yet to cease chasing, and it pays off as Ghezzal gets a chance just inside the area, but his strike drifts inches beyond the far post!
90' Lyon have three minutes to salvage something. Three minutes added on here.
88' HE'S AT IT AGAIN! Gonalons tries to power an effort in at the near post from 20 yards and strikes it with real venom, but Buffon has dealt with tougher saves than that tonight, making it look easy as he dives across to his left to parry.
86' Ghezzal is lively, seeing plenty of the ball despite just entering the fray. This is a good response from Lyon since conceding, but they're struggling to pick out that final ball they need to snatch an equaliser - which would be nothing more than they deserve.
M. Benatia
Dani Alves
Juventus
84' Allegri bringing on some reinforcements at the back here, with Dani Alves replaced by centre-half Medhi Benatia.
J. Ferri
Yellow Card
Olympique Lyonnais
83' Ferri becomes the fifth Lyon player booked on the night.
R. Ghezzal
M. Yanga-Mbiwa
Olympique Lyonnais
82' A final roll of the dice for the hosts, as they bring on forward Rachid Ghezzal at the expense of centre-half Yanga-Mbiwa.
80' Lyon will feel incredibly hard done by here, having looked all the while the likelier to break the deadlock, kept out only by the sensational goalkeeping of Gianluigi Buffon. Three times they have been denied what looked a sure opener, and now they find themselves behind, their knockout hopes hanging by a thread.
78' STAT: Lyon have won just one of their last six matches in France against Italian opposition (D3, L2).
Dani Alves
Assist
Juventus
76' Dani Alves is credited with the assist.
J. Cuadrado
Goal
Juventus
76' OFF THE BENCH AND INTO THEIR HEARTS! Juventus' hearts, that is! Cuadrado with a sensational run of his own, bursting into the area with pace before finishing brilliantly into the ceiling of the goal from a tight angle!
S. Sturaro
S. Khedira
Juventus
75' Juventus make their second change as well here, with Stefano Sturaro replacing Khedira.
M. Diakhaby
Yellow Card
Olympique Lyonnais
73' Diakhaby is shown a yellow card as he lunges into a challenge and gets his studs up on Cuadrado.
M. Cornet
A. Lacazette
Olympique Lyonnais
72' A second change for Lyon as Lacazette is replaced by Maxwell Cornet.
71' OH MY WORD IT STAYS OUT! Fekir delivers a corner and picks out Tolisso in space at the far post, but the midfielder's header is somehow kept out off the line by Buffon, who spreads himself wide to block the effort! That's a thing of beauty, once again, from the goalkeeper!
J. Cuadrado
P. Dybala
Juventus
69' Juventus make their first change of the night as Juan Cuadrado comes on to replace Dybala - not a negative switch by any means from Allegri.
68' STAT: Juventus have won five successive matches across all competitions, conceding just a single goal.
66' OFFSIDE! All for nothing in the end, but it's worth noting just how special of an intervention that was from Lopes, to pluck the ball from the feet of Higuain inside the area with a perfectly timed challenge after the striker appeared to be through on goal - though the flag went up late for offside.
J. Ferri
Sergi Darder
Olympique Lyonnais
64' Serdi Darder is replaced by Jordan Ferri, who scored in the opening match against Zagreb.
62' Lyon are starting to take shape now, patiently building in the attacking half. They're biding their tame, waiting for the opening which is sure to present itself at one point or another given the numerical advantage they boast.
A. Lacazette
Yellow Card
Olympique Lyonnais
60' Lacazette has a kick into the heels of Khedira and that's exactly what they shouldn't be doing. They can't give the referee a reason to even the field. The striker is shown a yellow card here.
58' STAT: Lyon won their last home match in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb, which ended a run of four successive home defeats in the competition.
56' Massive opportunity here for Lyon, and one they absolutely must seize if they want to be taken seriously in Group H. The three points are there for the taking, they have to continue on and find the elusive opener that would send them into second place in the group - but it's Juventus who have a corner here.
M. Lemina
Yellow 2nd/RC
Juventus
54' JUVENTUS DOWN TO 10 MEN! Lemina will argue his case, but he only has himself to blame in the end! That was a strong and altogether needless challenge on Fekir in midfield that was never going to go unpunished. He has to know better!
Sergi Darder
Yellow Card
Olympique Lyonnais
51' Both players lucky! Darder slightly less lucky, perhaps, as he's the only one to get booked here, but that was a hard and unforgiving kick into the back of Pjanic that could have warranted more! The Juventus midfielder antagonised him, without a doubt, but he escapes a booking.
50' SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE! Lyon break with pace and plenty of green space ahead of them. Tolisso plays the ball centrally for Fekir, who turns his marker and fires for goal. His strike takes a deflection off Bonucci, but somehow - the somehow cannot be stressed enough - Buffon is able to react at the last second, getting a strong hand to the shot to turn it over!
48' The teams exchange relatively harmless forays into the final third to open this second half, but it's a sign of the intent they each boast. It remains perfectly poised here, in what promises to be a delightful second half in France.
46' Both sides unchanged out of the break. Here we go again...
A frenetic end to the opening 45 minutes in Lyon, but there's no goals to report. Alexandre Lacazette had the best chance of the half, but he was denied by Gianluigi Buffon from the penalty spot, before Anthony Lopes responded with a sensational stop of his own to deny Gonzalo Higuain as the teams head scoreless into the interval
45' HALF-TIME: LYON 0-0 JUVENTUS.
45' Diakhaby with the masterful challenge! Superb piece of last-ditch defending there from the young centre-half to deny Khedira a shot from point-blank range! That's outstanding from the defender, who very well just denied Juventus the opener with virtually the last kick of the first half.
44' REMARKABLE GOALKEEPING! That's straight out of the top drawer from Anthony Lopes, who flies through the air to get a strong hand on Higuain's header that appeared destined for the top corner! That was a lovely effort from the striker, on the end of Alves' cross, but Lopes' work there takes the cake.
43' The tempo has fizzled out a bit as we enter the last few minutes of the first half, with Juventus dictating possession and attempting to assert themselves in the final third. It's all very patient from the visitors, but there's little in terms of an end product.
M. Lemina
Yellow Card
Juventus
41' Lemina is shown the second yellow card of the night for a Juventus player. He slides into a cynical challenge to try an win the ball back in the attacking half after conceeding possession seconds earlier.
39' STAT: Juventus’ victory over Lyon in 2014 was their only one in their last five trips to France (D2, L2).
37' Well what a great first half this is turning into. What it's lacking in goals, it's more than making up for in excitement. A penalty appeal turned down at one end, then awarded moments later at the other, before a terrific piece of goalkeeping from Buffon rubs salt into the wounds of Lyon.
A. Lacazette
Penalty Miss
Olympique Lyonnais
35' What could have been a storybook return to the team for Lacazette has turned into a nightmare! It wasn't a poor penalty necessarily, hit with real pace, but he could have done better to pick out the corner.
G. Buffon
Penalty Save
Juventus
35' STUNNING SAVE! Buffon guesses correctly, faking to his right before flinging himself to the left in a hurry, and he makes sure he gets two strong hands behind it to knock it aside! Remarkable stuff from one of the all-time greats!
L. Bonucci
Yellow Card
Juventus
34' PENALTY TO LYON! Bonucci wraps his arms around the back of Diakhaby and tackles the teenager as a corner is delivered in from the left, and after a bit of hesitation, the referee points to the spot!
31' Penalty appeals denied! Dybala tries to turn his marker in the area, before going down under a bit of contact from Diakhaby. The centre-half didn't get any of the ball, but there wasn't much in that at all, so the referee did well to let that go.
Rafael
Yellow Card
Olympique Lyonnais
29' Darder has a shot blocked from the edge of the box following a corner - an important block at that - and moments later Rafael is booked as he commits a hard foul in an attempt to win the ball back high up the pitch.
27' It's been a very intriguing tactical battle thus far, though that's largely seen the entertainment value suffer a bit. Lyon are defending stoutly, but Juventus have remained patient despite the limited openings. It's going to come down to a matter of which team breaks their strategy first.
25' HIGUAIN! First sight of goal for the Argentine striker, who gets on the end of a tidy ball through from Alves, but lashes a shot a whisker wide of the far post from a tight angle. They need him to start getting more involved.
23' Lyon have adopted a very defensive approach to the match, however, biding their time between opportunities on the break with some sound, organised defensive play. They're proving hard to break down and it's starting to frustrate Juventus, who are committing more bodies forward to try and penetrate.
21' The atmosphere here in the Grand Stade, as it's nicknamed, is superb. There's very few empty seats scattered throughout the lower bowl and they have been in full voice throughout. It's really helped propel Lyon through the sticky spells.
19' STAT: Lyon have not played a Champions League match against Italian opposition since 2009. They won 1-0 at home to Fiorentina, with now Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic scoring the game’s only goal.
17' You can feel the momentum shifting here, as Juventus struggle to get service now to their front two. There's a good width about them, but Lyon are doing well to combat that, while taking away space from Pjanic in midfield.
15' Fekir makes a strong run off the ball and threads between the likes of Bonucci and Evra, but the throughball from Tolisso isn't weighted properly as it runs safely into the hands of Buffon. Encouraging signs here from Lyon.
13' INCHES WIDE! For all Juventus' domination early on, it's Lyon who carve out the first real chance of the match, with Diakhaby rising high to meet a free-kick delivered in from the left. He makes good contact with his header, sending a glancing effort towards the far post, but it drifts just wide.
11' A dangerous ball in from the left, provided by Sandro, bends behind the defence and nearly comes through for Alves, but Morel does just enough to put him off and force it to run out the other side. Another warning issued by the visitors, nonetheless.
9' STAT: This is the third meeting between the two clubs, having faced off in the quarter-final of the 2013/14 Europa League. Juventus won both matches, including a 1-0 victory in Lyon courtesy of a late goal from Leonardo Bonucci.
7' Juventus are very much on the ascendency, with Lopes having to scramble to clear the danger on a few occasions. It's always comforting to know your goalkeeper is alert, but you also don't want to see him working this much, this early.
5' Lyon have weathered the early storm and are starting to enjoy some possession of their own, but they've been unable to get into any advanced areas, still awaiting their first attack of the evening. Juventus are looking wonderfully composed in all facets of the pitch.
3' Concentrated pressure from Juventus at the start, getting after the Lyon back three early on. They are keen to test Diakhaby, with the 19-year-old making his Champions League debut tonight - though he proves up to the task early on.
1' AND WE'RE OFF! Lyon, in all white, get us underway, attacking right to left, with Juventus in their blue away strip.
Gonzalo Higuain starts alongside Paulo Dybala in attack, at the expense of Mario Mandzukic, while Sami Khedira, Dani Alves and ex-Lyon player Miralem Pjanic replace Hernanes, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Juan Cuadrado.
The return of Leonardo Bonucci to the team allows Massimiliano Allegri to revert to his preferred 5-3-2, after playing with four at the back against Udinese on Saturday. Mehdi Benatia drops to the bench as a result, one of five changes made by the Bianconeri from their team on the weekend.
The other three changes for Les Gones come in defence. Rafael, Nicolas N'Koulou and Mouctar Diakhaby are brought into the team at the expense of Jordy Gaspar, Emanuel Mammana and Maciej Rybus, the latter of which misses out through injury.
Lyon make four changes to the side which fell 2-0 to leaders Nice on the weekend. Alexandre makes his full return to the side after appearing as a substitute in the loss. He leads the line, pushing Nabil Fekir to a slightly deeper role, while forcing Jordan Ferri to the bench.
SUBS: Benatia, Cuadrado, Hernanes, Mattiello, Neto, Sturaro, Kean.
JUVENTUS (5-3-2): Buffon; Alves, Barzagli, Bonucci, Evra, Sandro; Khedira, Lemina, Pjanic; Dybala, Higuain.
SUBS: Ghezzal, Ferri, Gaspar, Cornet, Valbuena, Tousart, Gorgelin.
LYON (5-3-2): Lopes; Rafael, Yanga-Mbiwa, N'Koulou, Diakhaby, Morel; Darder, Gonalons, Tolisso; Fekir, Lacazette.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Juventus are in outstanding form at the moment, once again looking like the cream of the crop in Italy, but a massive trip to Milan on the weekend could steal some of their focus away from this Champions League tie.
They’re getting healthy at the right time, and with injuries piling up for the Serie A champions, this match might have come at the perfect time for Bruno Genesio’s men to try and pull the upset.
Sevilla have the potential for six points in their next two matches against Dinamo Zagreb, so Lyon need at worst a split in their home and home with Juventus to keep their hopes of advancing alive.
Lyon sit third in the group heading into what has the feel of a must-win tie for them, as they trail co-leaders Juventus and Sevilla – tied atop the group with four points each.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from the Grand Stade in the France as Lyon play host to Juventus in an all-important Group H clash.
