Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
The result means that Olympiacos move joint top of Group C alongside Manchester City, while Marseille drop into third.
Olympiacos snatch a priceless, late win over Marseille! The first half was an even affair punctuated by two key chances: first Thauvin blazed over from close range for Marseille, before Masouras saw his goalbound effort blocked by Caleta-Car. However, Olympiacos took control in the second half and despite having a goal disallowed by VAR, they continued to pile forward and they were eventually rewarded with a 91st-minute winner when Hassan headed Valbuena's cross beyond Mandanda.

84' Olympiacos almost find a winner! Valbuena dances down the right flank again before looping in a deft cross to El-Arabi who nods a delicate header just over the bar from close range! Mandanda wouldn't have stood a chance if that was on target.
V. Germain
F. Thauvin
82' Marseille make another change as Thauvin departs with Germain taking his place.
80' The slew of substitutions has created a rather disjointed game over the last few minutes as both sides adjust to their new lineups.
K. Fortounis
L. Ranđelović
78' Olympiacos take the opportunity to make a change too; Randjelovic is replaced by Fortounis.
M. Cuisance
M. Sanson
77' Sanson makes way for Cuisance as Marseille continue to search for a winner.

N. Radonjić
D. Payet
76' Payet is replaced by Radonjic after tiring in the second half.
74' Benedetto makes an intelligent run in behind the home defence and Rongier picks him out, but the striker's left isolated and Semedo gets back to dispossess him.
72' Brilliant save from Mandanda! Holebas teases in another delightful cross and it drifts to Valbuena at the back post, where the attacker lashes a fierce volley that Mandanda blocks from close range!
71' Randjelovic follows up a blocked shot from El-Arabi and fizzes a powerful effort off the post from 20 yards! However, the linesman had belatedly raised his flag and the shot wouldn't have counted.
69' Semedo is down with a head injury after colliding with Benedetto in the box, but after a brief delay it looks as though he'll be able to continue.
67' Marseille make a rare foray forward as Thauvin jinks down the right flank, but his eventual cross is too close to Sa and Olympiacos rebuild.
65' If Marseille are to snatch three points today, you'd imagine Payet will be key; the attacker has already produced three shots and one key pass so far.
63' Aside from the Benedetto chance early in the second period, Olympiacos have taken control in this half. Nevertheless, while the score remains level both teams will feel confident about finding a winner.
61' Holebas has been rampant throughout this game and he finds himself in the Marseille box once again, but this time he dithers before giving possession away just as it looked as though a shooting opportunity had emerged.
59' Valbuena elegantly slips Holebas in down the touchline but Caleta-Car is on hand to immediately fend his cross off.
57' Gueye feeds Benedetto in behind the Olympiacos defence again, but Raphina gets back well to dispossess the striker.
55' Well, that's a huge let-off for Marseille! Masouras was offside by the tightest of margins and the hosts were convinced that they'd taken a crucial lead.
53' Olympiacos have a goal ruled out by VAR! Randjelovic gets in behind down the right before drilling in a low cross that finds its way to Masouras who bundles in the opener! However, just as Marseille are about to restart VAR discovers that Masouras was offside in the build-up and the goal is ruled out!
51' Payet cuts inside from the left and slaloms ominously towards goal, but Semedo steps in expertly to cut out the danger.
50' Marseille weren't afraid to shoot from distance in the first half; they put together five shots from outside the box compared to the four they had inside. If they are to find a winner, they might need to be a little more patient and try and create better shooting opportunities though.
48' Brilliant save from Sa! Thauvin splits the defence with a deft throughball, allowing Benedetto to race through on goal! However, Sa closes down the striker quickly and makes a brilliant block with his legs from close range to save the hosts!
46' Olympiacos get the second 45 underway.
With the other two sides in the group - Manchester City and Porto - currently drawing, both teams will be keen to push forward and capitalise with a win in the second period.
The sides head into the break level after an entertaining first half. Olympiacos and Marseille have shown plenty of intent so far, although neither side has been able to gain the upper hand. Nevertheless, Masouras has gone close for the hosts, while the away side will be regretting Thauvin's wasteful miss from close range.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: Olympiacos 0-0 Marseille
45' Holebas releases Masouras down the left flank but the attacker's cross is overhit and Marseille regroup.
43' El-Arabi wastefully heads wide from Holebas' cross after being left unmarked in the six-yard box, but replays show the striker was offside and that it wouldn't have counted.
40' Payet briefly finds a pocket of space on the edge of the area, but he's rapidly closed down by the home defence and they manage to smuggle it clear.
38' Brilliant move from Olympiacos! Bouchalakis leads a counter-attack by playing a one-two with El-Arabi before hitting a delivery across the face of goal where Masouras' lunging effort from close range is blocked bravely by Caleta-Car!
36' The away side earn a free-kick 30 yards from goal and Payet steps up to curl it over the wall, but into the arms of Sa.
34' Marseille almost take the lead! Rongier releases Amavi down the left flank and the attacker whips in a devious cross that finds Thauvin unmarked at the back post, but the defender can't keep his shot down and it flashes just over the bar!
32' That's the danger for Marseille though; although their pressing is generating plenty of chances, their high line could be vulnerable on the counter-attack.
31' Masouras latches onto a throughball to get in behind the Marseille defence but he's quickly called back for an offside.
29' Marseille's intense pressing forces another mistake as Ba gives the ball away on the halfway-line and the away side quickly break, before Thauvin whips in a wayward cross that drifts away for a goal kick.
27' Valbuena slips Randjelovic in behind the Marseille defence but Amavi tracks the run well and pokes it away for a corner that amounts to nothing.
25' Olympiacos attempt to control the game with a spell of possession around their backline, but the away side are pressing relentlessly and they eventually force Sa into clearing it up the pitch.
23' Olympiacos struggle to clear a Marseille corner, but any pressure ends abruptly as Sanson wildly smacks a shot over from 25 yards.
21' Holebas has been given plenty of license to get forward so far, and this time the left-back hangs in an awkward cross to the back post where Caleta-Car brilliantly hacks it away from harm.
19' Benedetto outmuscles Ba to find himself clean through on goal, but the referee - harshly - calls a foul and shuts down the chance immediately.
18' This has been an open, engaging contest so far. Both sides have been happy to push forward and search for an opener, perhaps because they're aware of just how important a win would be today for qualification.
16' Payet shimmies into the penalty area, but the attacker can't quite engineer enough space for a shot and Ba clears.
14' Raphina charges forward from right-back and makes his way to the byline, before fizzing in a dangerous cross that narrowly evades the outstretched El-Arabi.
12' Olympiacos go close! Masouras scurries to the byline and stands up a neat cross to the edge of the area, where M'Vila is on hand to lash a stunning first-time volley just wide of the far post! That would have been a sensational goal!
10' Sakai wins a corner for the away side after his cross is deflected wide by Holebas. However, M'Vila is there at the near post and heads the set-piece clear at the first attempt.
8' Olympiacos midfielder Valbuena is facing his former club today – the Frenchman made 37 appearances for Marseille in the Champions League, which remains the joint-most of any outfield player for the club (along with Benoit Cheyrou).
6' Payet probes the Olympiacos defence and sets up Thauvin, who cuts inside from the right-wing before whipping a bending shot a few yards wide of the far post.
5' Marseille press high up the pitch and force Bouchalakis into surrendering possession, but Sanson opts to hit a shot from 25 yards and it drifts well wide.
3' Olympiacos immediately settle into the game as Randjelovic skips down the right flank before clipping in a cross that Mandanda does well to claim.
1' Marseille get the first half underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
For Olympiacos to qualify for the knockouts they’ll need a dramatic change in form in Europe. Olympiacos have only won one of their last 14 games in the UEFA Champions League (D2 L11), although that victory did come in their most recent game in the competition – 1-0 v Crvena Zvezda in last season’s group stage.
Marseille, meanwhile, switch from the midfield diamond – that helped them beat Bordeaux – and move into a 4-3-3. Kamara and Cuisance both drop out in this change with Gueye and Payet moving into the starting lineup.
Olympiacos make three changes to the side that defeated Atromitos 4-0 last time out; Camara, Hassan and Fortounis are replaced by Bouchalakis, El-Arabi and Randjelovic.
SUBS: Marley Ake, Simon Ngapandouetnbu, Yohann Pele, Lucas Perrin, Michael Cuisance, Luis Henrique, Nemanja Radonjic, Kevin Strootman, Yuto Nagatomo, Valere Germain, Leonardo Balerdi.
MARSEILLE (4-3-3): Steve Mandanda; Hiroki Sakai, Alvaro Gonzalez, Duje Caleta-Car, Jordan Amavi; Valentin Rongier, Pape Alassane Gueye, Morgan Sanson; Florian Thauvin, Dario Benedetto, Dimitri Payet.
SUBS: Marios Vrousai, Ruben Vinagre, Ilias Karargyris, Konstantinos Tzolakis, Mohamed Drager, Vasilis Sourlis, Ahmed Hassan, Pape Abou Cisse, Pepe, Hillal Soudani, Avraam Papadopoulos, Konstantinos Fortounis.

Even at the beginning of the competition, this is a critical game for both sides; with Manchester City favourites to go through, Olympiacos, Marseille and Porto will all be hopeful about securing the second qualification spot. Whoever gets the three points today will immediately be in a commanding position looking forward.
