UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League

Thank you for following our live coverage. Until next time, goodbye!
A huge game for Newcastle sees them take on fellow strugglers Brighton and Hove Albion next weekend. Meanwhile, Villa host Tottenham Hotspur in a battle between two sides pushing for the European places in the Premier League.
With the last kick of the game, Jamaal Lascelles has rescued a point for Newcastle United. It could prove crucial in their battle for Premier League survival. Aston Villa looked on course for three points after Ollie Watkins' header deflected in off Ciaran Clark, but their wait for a first victory at St James' Park since 2005 goes on.
J. Murphy
90' + 4' Murphy delivered a delicious cross that was begging to be attacked and Lascelles duly obliged.
J. Lascelles
90' + 4' LASCELLES!!! 1-1! NEWCASTLE EQUALISE! Late drama at St James' Park as Lascelles powers home a header from Murphy's cross to rescue a point for the hosts in the dying seconds. Captain's example!
90' + 3' WHAT A SAVE! Moments after keeping out Newcastle, Villa go on the counter once more. Barkley threads the ball through for Watkins, whose powerful strike is brilliantly saved by Dubravka.
90' + 1' Good save! Villa go on the counter as they look for that game-clinching second goal. El Ghazi is well-found, but his shot is kept out by Dubravka.
90' We are going to have four additional minutes at the end of this game.
A. Carroll
I. Hayden
88' Newcastle turn straight to the bench and throw on Andy Carroll in favour of Hayden.
C. Clark
Own Goal
86' OWN GOAL!!! 1-0 VILLA! The visitors have the breakthrough! Watkins stoops to meet Targett's low ball into the box, and his header takes a huge deflection off Clark before going in off the crossbar. Could that be the winning goal?!
85' Neat play from Villa gets Watkins in behind. He gets his shot away from a tight angle, but it is pushed away by Dubravka.
Javi Manquillo
E. Krafth
83' Another change for the hosts with Javier Manquillo replacing Krafth.
82' OFF THE BAR! The woodwork denies Newcastle! Receiving the ball in the area, Murphy cleverly skips away from a couple of challenges, only to see his shot crash against the crossbar with Martinez beaten.
80' Villa push for the opener and Watkins seeks out El Ghazi with a deep cross to the far post, but there is just too much pace on the delivery and it goes behind for a goal kick.
J. Murphy
R. Fraser
79' A change for Newcastle as Fraser makes way for Jacob Murphy.
T. Mings
Yellow Card
78' Mings is next into the book after obstructing the run of Joelinton.
M. Sanson
Yellow Card
77' Sanson goes into the book for a trip on Fraser.
76' Still goalless as we enter the final quarter of an hour at St James' Park. Are we heading for a stalemate or is there to be a dramatic twist?
J. McGinn
Yellow Card
74' McGinn has his name taken by the referee for bringing down Fraser.
72' SHOOT! Neat play by Newcastle releases Joelinton through on goal. But rather than taking aim, the Brazilian looks to square the ball for a team-mate and Villa clear.
70' Coming into today, only Sheffield United, Fulham and Leicester had received more bookings in the Premier League than Newcastle. There is another one to their tally.
J. Lascelles
Yellow Card
68' Lascelles goes into the book for a deliberate handball that prevented Barkley from getting away.
R. Barkley
68' Villa make a change with Ross Barkley introduced in favour of Trezeguet.
67' The former Southampton left-back is involved again as Villa patiently build up down his side. He sends in a deep cross that Dubravka has to watch all the way over the bar.
65' Targett is one of several Villa defenders linked with an England call-up ahead of the forthcoming international break. His selection would certainly be justified following an impressive season.
63' Villa have a collective heart attack as Targett cushions a header from Hayden's cross dangerously towards his own goal. Thankfully, Martinez to alert and springs across to hold on.
61' Newcastle are awarded a free-kick in a good position to get the ball into the box. Although they do that, Villa stand firm to clear.
M. Sanson
J. Ramsey
59' Ramsey makes way for Villa to be replaced by Morgan Sanson.
57' Villa look to break with Ramsey leading the charge. He feeds the ball into the onrushing Watkins, but Lascelles reads the danger and clears.
55' Get out the way! Shelvey winds up for a shot from the edge of the area. However, Willock gets in the way at the wrong moment and deflects his effort over the bar.
53' Chance! Targett floats a free-kick towards the far post, where Konsa is unable to keep his header down from close range.
E. Krafth
Yellow Card
52' Krafth goes into the book for bundling over the onrushing Watkins.
50' This is only Newcastle's second Premier League game at St James' Park on a Friday. Their previous one brought a 6-2 rout of Everton in March 2002.
48' Following their 2-0 win in January, Villa are looking to complete their first league double over Newcastle since the 2004-05 season.
46' Villa get the ball rolling once again in the second half.
The two teams must look to be more creative and clinical upon the game's resumption, while tightening up in possession as well.
Nothing to separate the sides at the break with Newcastle and Aston Villa currently locked at 0-0. Chances have not fallen too freely for either side; something they will both look to address at the break.
45' We are going to have a single minute of stoppage time at the end of this first half.
43' Release it! A great opportunity for Newcastle to get in behind with Joelinton leading the charge. Fraser is pointing for the through ball to arrive, but the Brazilian lingers for too long and Mings intercepts the danger.
40' Still goalless as we enter the final five minutes of this first half at St James' Park. Villa have had the better chances, but the breakthrough continues to elude both teams.
38' Of course, Villa are targeting their 15th clean sheet of the season, which would move them level with Manchester City. Meanwhile, their current total of eight on the road is the best in the Premier League.
36' The Magpies look to carve their opponents open with Lascelles and Shelvey attempting long balls forward. But Villa stand firm and are equal to both.
34' Although, in terms of keeping Villa at bay, Newcastle will take their current scenario - especially given the fact they have kept just one clean sheet at home this season.
32' As for Newcastle, they are struggling to maintain possession here. Therefore, it is no surprise that heading into today's game, they had executed the fewest passes in the Premier League this term.
30' Villa have been generally productive from the wings this season. Only Liverpool, Leeds and Chelsea have delivered more crosses in the Premier League.
28' GOOD EFFORT! Receiving the ball on the right wing, Trezeguet sparks into life as he bursts past Dummett and into the area. He unleashes a powerful shot from a tight angle, but Dubravka beats it away.
26' Villa have lost four of their last five Premier League games played on a Friday. Those defeats include reverses against Leeds and Manchester United in their two such games this season.
24' El Ghazi looking to get involved immediately as he cuts in from the left and gets his shot away from the edge of the area. But it is straight down the throat of Dubravka, who holds on.
23' Contrasting fortunes for Traore in this fixture. The winger was on target in the 2-0 victory at Villa Park in January but, two months later, he is forced off early through injury.
A. El Ghazi
Bertrand Traoré
21' Traore is unable to continue following that nasty clash with the advertising board. He is replaced by Anwar El Ghazi.
20' Traore looks to be in a lot of pain as he hobbles around to the touchline. It is unlikely he will continue here.
18' OUCH! Strong defending from Dummett nudges Traore off the ball as he gets to the touchline. But the Villa winger's momentum takes him over the advertising hoardings, before he crashes into the board at the front of the stands. The medical team are tending to Traore, who appears to be struggling following that heavy impact.
16' Mings will have been disappointed to have lost out to Joelinton and not put a foot in on that occasion. In fact, only Arsenal have made fewer tackles than Villa in the Premier League this season.
14' GOOD DEFENDING! Joelinton demonstrates good strength and power to get the better of Mings down the right. He darts into the area, but Konsa times his sliding challenge to perfection and blocks the Brazilian's shot.
13' Goals have been a problem for Villa of late. Smith's side have only scored 11 times in their last 13 matches; while failing to score more than twice in a single game during that span.
11' Villa look to capitalise on a poor kick by Dubravka. Ramsey drives forward before floating a cross towards the far post, where McGinn is unable to volley towards goal.
9' You must go back to April 2005 for the last time Villa were victorious here courtesy of a 3-0 success. That game is notoriously remembered for Newcastle having three players sent off, including Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer for fighting each other!
7' Newcastle may have struggled of late, but they do boast an impressive record against Villa. In fact, the Magpies are unbeaten in the last 11 Premier League meetings between the sides at St James' Park.
5' Good strike! At the other end, the ball falls kindly for Fraser to hit on the volley. The former Bournemouth winger catches it sweetly, but it is straight at Martinez.
4' First shot of the game falls to McGinn after Newcastle fail to deal with a free-kick into the box. However, on the day of his 100th Villa appearance, he curls an effort high and wide of the target.
2' Good early pressure by Joelinton on Mings following a long ball forward. However, the referee penalises the Newcastle striker for a push on the Villa defender.
1' The referee blows his whistle and Newcastle get the match underway.
The teams are coming out onto the field and kick-off is moments away.
Neither side can boast the best of form coming into this game. In fact, Newcastle are without a win in four, while Villa have just one victory from their last five.
Also just the one alteration for Villa. Teenager Jacob Ramsey returns to the starting line-up, with Morgan Sanson dropping to the bench. Matty Cash takes his place among the subs as he returns from injury, but skipper Jack Grealish is absent through illness.
Steve Bruce makes a single change to the Newcastle side that began their draw with West Bromwich Albion last time out. Dwight Gayle replaces Jeff Hendrick to boost the hosts' attacking options, while Javier Manquillo returns from injury on the bench. Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin are among the notable long-term absentees for the Toon.
SUBS: Tom Heaton, Matty Cash, Bjorn Engels, Neil Taylor, Marvelous Nakamba, Morgan Sanson, Ross Barkley, Anwar El Ghazi, Keinan Davis.
ASTON VILLA (4-3-3): Emiliano Martinez; Ahmed Elmohamady, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett; John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Jacob Ramsey; Bertrand Traore, Ollie Watkins, Trezeguet.
SUBS: Karl Darlow, Federico Fernandez, Javier Manquillo, Jamal Lewis, Sean Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick, Matt Ritchie, Jacob Murphy, Andy Carroll.
NEWCASTLE UNITED (4-3-3): Martin Dubravka; Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett; Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden; Ryan Fraser, Joelinton, Dwight Gayle.
Two teams with very contrasting scenarios in the English top-flight. Newcastle are aiming to move away from the relegation zone, while Villa will look to step up their pursuit of the European places.
