Commentary

It will be a huge psychological boost for PSG as they prepare to regain the Ligue 1 title from Monaco, who usurped them last season. That's all from us tonight, though!
FULL-TIME - Monaco 1-2 PSG: A pair of second-half goals from Alves and Rabiot brought Emery's side back from behind to win the Trophee des Champions for a fifth year in succession. Sidibe had given Monaco the lead with a fine finish following a lovely break through the middle, but they were unable to hold onto their advantage.
90' + 3' There is the final whistle! PSG retain the Trophee des Champions!
90' + 1' Again Lemar provides a threat on the left, and his cross is blocked by Rabiot. There are appeals for a penalty and it definitely should have been - it came off the midfielder's hand!
90' + 1' We are into the first of three added minutes.
C. Nkunku
M. Verratti
PSG
90' Emery's final switch sees the attacking Nkunku replace Verratti.
89' Glik steps up from the back and makes an impressive interception in the final third, but his attempted pass out to Saint-Maximin is wayward and PSG have yet another goal-kick.
88' FALCAAAAOOOOO!! Monaco are knocking on the door! Lemar stands a cross up to the back post for the Colombian striker, who once more fails to steer his header on target! He points to the corner but the officials aren't buying it give the goal-kick.
Gonçalo Guedes
J. Pastore
PSG
86' Guedes comes on for Pastore.
85' Tielemans hooks a free-kick from deep on the left into the box, but Areola comes off his line and punches it clear. The offside flag goes up anyway, but the goalkeeper was not to know that.
84' Carrillo is putting in the hard yards up top for Monaco, chasing down the defenders and Areola and refusing to let them settle in possession.
Fabinho
Yellow Card
Monaco
82' Fabinho's swing was clearly noticed, and he also goes into the book.
M. Verratti
Yellow Card
PSG
82' Verratti goes into the book for shoving Fabinho to the ground, the Italian clearly unhappy with his attempt to smash the ball away with Alves down on the deck.
81' GREAT SAVE! Lemar's corner finds the head of Carrillo, who is jumping backwards and cranes a header towards the bottom-left corner. Saint-Maximin follows it up but a block from Silva keeps it out.
79' Verratti picks out Alves after a neat move down the left, but his shot at goal is deflected behind off Jemerson. The corner is far too deep and a chance for PSG to put the match to bed goes begging.
A. Saint-Maximin
D. Sidibé
Monaco
77' Sidibe won't be returning, though, Saint-Maximin taking his place.
77' Meunier makes a decent run down the right and attempts to pick out Cavani at the back post, though Glik is on hand with a header over the top.
76' Play eventually restarts and Silva soon jogs back into the fray. PSG will be happy to keep the seconds ticking off the clock.
74' Silva and Sidibe have stayed down after the Brazilian slid in to challenge his opponent 20 yards from goal. It looks like he may have hurt his knee in the process and the medical staff come on to treat him once Verratti knocks the ball out.
73' Monaco have barely threatened in this half. They need to step it up in the closing stages or PSG will once again win the Trophee des Champions. Unai Emery's side are continuing to control possession and look happy to keep the tempo as slow as possible.
B. Matuidi
T. Motta
PSG
71' Matuidi comes on for Motta, a move that Monaco's midfield won't be the biggest fans of.
G. Carrillo
K. Mbappé
Monaco
71' Mbappe makes way for Carrillo, the teenager walking off the pitch after an energetic display.
68' OPTA STAT: Alves has been involved in four goals in his three competitive games against Monaco (two goals, two assists).
Rony Lopes
T. Kongolo
Monaco
66' With Alves running riot down Monaco's left, Kongolo makes way for Lopes. He has gone over to right midfield, with Sidibe moving to left-back.
65' Motta is caught on the ball inside his own box by Tielemans, but the referee deems the Belgian to have committed a foul.
Dani Alves
Assist
PSG
63' Alves has proved a real asset on the right wing tonight, adding an assist to his earlier goal.
A. Rabiot
Goal
PSG
63' GOOOOOOOAAAAL!!! RABIOT PUTS PSG AHEAD! Alves is released with a ball to the byline and he clips a lovely ball to the head of Rabiot, who powers it into the top-right corner!
62' Subasic has to backtrack as a teasing cross-cum-shot from Alves threatens to float over him and into the back of the net. The Croatian gets a hand to the ball and turns it behind for a corner. Rabiot's cross is headed back across for Marquinhos, with Glik diverting it behind as Silva lurked.
60' RABIOT! The midfielder gets in front of Glik and connects with a delivery from Alves, but he can only steer his header wide of the target.
59' Rabiot deflects a shot from Tielemans and Areola races out of his goal to try and stop the concession of a corner. He's unable to do it, though.
57' Wide from Tielemans! PSG lose possession deep inside their own half and the Sidibe tries to swing a cross in from the right. It's only cleared as far as Tielemans, who strikes across the ball and sends a shot spinning wide of the near post.
55' Unsurprisingly, Alves is the man standing over the free-kick. He fails to repeat the trick this time, drilling the ball straight into the wall!
K. Glik
Yellow Card
Monaco
53' GLIK HAD TO MAKE THAT TACKLE! The centre-back clips the ankles of Cavani as the striker looks set to go one-on-one with Subasic. The contact came just outside the box and as he had Jemerson nearby in support, he avoids a red card!
Dani Alves
Goal
PSG
51' GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! A STUNNER FROM ALVES! The Brazilian goes directly for goal and connects with the sweetest of hits. The ball barely spins as it flies over the wall and arrows inside the top-left corner! Not a bad way to open your account for your new club!
D. Sidibé
Yellow Card
Monaco
50' A wild tackle from Sidibe on Kurzawa sees the first yellow card of the match! He missed the ball and chopped down the left-back, giving PSG a free-kick 25 yards from goal.
47' FALCAO! A lovely, curling delivery from Sidibe on the right finds the head of Falcao in the centre of the box. The Colombian is unmarked but gets under the ball and sends his header over the top. You'd normally bank on him scoring there!
46' We are back underway!
HALF-TIME - Monaco 1-0 PSG: Sidibe's sublime finish is the difference at half-time, the midfielder dinking a lovely effort beyond Areola after Tielemans' throughball. It was a swift break and it had to be with PSG dominating possession in the first half. The Coupe de France champions will need to step it up after the interval if they are to retain the trophy.
45' + 1' After Monaco fail to punish Marquinhos for a poor clearance, the half-time whistle goes!
45' Verratti creates some space for an effort on goal from the left side of the box, but he bounces a shot straight at Subasic.
44' PSG continue to try and push for an equaliser before the break, but the ball does not drop for Rabiot or Motta in the box and Monaco are able to get it clear.
42' WHAT A CHANCE! Alves delivers a free-kick from the left and Subasic comes off his line but fails to get a handle on it. The ball falls for Marquinhos but he is unable to react quickly enough to divert it home from the edge of the six-yard box.
41' Cavani dummies the ball and spins onto it in the box, taking Jemerson out of the game. Subasic is quickly off his line and dives at the Uruguayan's feet, narrowly beating him to the ball.
39' That is superb from Mbappe! He breezes past Motta with a stepover before stepping up a gear to move away from Verratti. He stabs a pass out to the right for Sidibe, who is adjudged offside to bring the move to an end. That's why Madrid appear to desperate to land Mbappe!
37' Cavani takes the free-kick and fires it over. Monaco move down the right and Sidibe lifts the ball into the centre, but Areola watches it all the way and ventures off his line to pluck it down.
35' Having dominated possession and dictated terms for much of the game, PSG will not want to go into half-time behind. Cavani rolls Jemerson and draws a free-kick in a dangerous central position, 30 yards out.
33' The move is brought to an end when Mbappe looks to cut inside Rabiot and the ball strikes the PSG midfielder's arm, with the referee awarding a free-kick. Mbappe creates space inside the box and cuts onto his left foot for a shot that is blocked by Marquinhos.
32' Verratti is fed inside the box and tries to square for Rabiot, but Glik's reads his intentions and cuts it out before sending Monaco on a counter-attack.
Y. Tielemans
Assist
Monaco
30' Tielemans shows just why Monaco signed him from Anderlecht with an incisive first-time pass down the right-hand channel for Sidibe.
D. Sidibé
Goal
Monaco
30' GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! SIDIBE OPENS THE SCORING! He races through on goal and clips a delightful finish over Areola from the edge of the box! What composure.
29' PSG have another claim for a penalty, as Pastore skips past Sidibe and knocks the ball through Toure's legs en route to the byline. He runs into the right-back and goes to ground, but the referee does not deem it a foul and it's probably the right decision.
27' PASTORE! Another set-piece from Alves, this time a corner from the right, finds its way to Pastore on the left-hand side of the box. He takes a touch before firing a volley towards the top-left corner, missing the target and failing to test Subasic.
25' Dani Alves has a go from what must be 30 yards, but his shot is always rising and is nowhere near troubling Subasic. The Brazilian had just seen his free-kick from the left cleared by the head of Sidibe.
24' Cavani appeals for a penalty as he dribbles into the box and flicks the ball behind him in an attempt to get beyond Glik. The Monaco defender stands his ground, denying Cavani the chance to get back on the ball and have a shot at goal.
22' Pastore chips a first-time delivery in from the right but it spends so long in the air that Subasic can comfortably see it is safe to come off his line and collect. Sidibe and Kurzawa clash in an aerial challenge on PSG's left, with the Monaco man adjudged to have fouled him with a high arm.
21' PSG are beginning to enjoy more of the possession and they switch it out to Pastore on the right. He rolls it on for Alves, who overhits a cross on the spin and sends it out for a throw-in on the opposite flank.
19' FACT: Monaco have triumphed in their last two Trophee des Champions appearances in 1997 and 2000.
17' Verratti has looked a bit sloppy so far, with Monaco certainly showing more energy in the opening stages. The Italian looks for Alves with a clipped pass over the top but he was offside.
15' They had to do better! Monaco have a two-on-one after Verratti gives the ball away. Falcao's attempt to square for Mbappe is blocked by the head of the Italy international, and the Monaco striker's follow-up volley is wild.
14' CAVANI! The Uruguayan looks set to continue his clinical form from last season as he again gets into a dangerous, attacking the near post as Alves puts in a low cross. Cavani tries to guide a first-time shot across goal but Jemerson blocks it!
12' Monaco are awarded a free-kick when Verratti lunges in on Mbappe, the young striker proving difficult to contain so far tonight. Lemar swings the set-piece into the space between the keeper and his defence, but there's no one making a run to supply a finishing touch.
11' Rabiot bends a sensational pace around the back of the defence for Cavani to chase. The Uruguayan will go through for a one-on-one if he gets on the end of it, but Kongolo shows his pace to recover and make an important clearance.
10' Pastore threads a sumblime pass down the left for Kurzawa, but the left-back quickly gives up as he spots the flag up on the opposite side of the pitch.
8' Alves sends in the corner but PSG are unable to make anything of it, with Glik making an important challenge inside the box as Rabiot waited for the ball to drop for a volley.
6' GREAT SAVE FROM SUBASIC! Rabiot gets to the byline and cuts back towards Alves, whose first-time shot is batted back into danger by the Monaco goalkeeper, but he recovers to clear the danger before the onrushing Cavani can find the back of the net!
5' GOOOOOAAAAL!! No, it's offside! Kongolo slides in on Verratti and regains possession for Monaco on the left. Tielemans gathers and feeds Lemar, who picks out Mbappe in the box. The teenage striker beats Areola at his near post but sees the flag raised on the far side!
3' Monaco are knocking the ball about well, with Sidibe played in down the right and whipping a cross towards the near post for the run of Mbappe. He places it too close to Areola, who dives out to smother.
1' An early chance for Monaco! Mbappe catches Verratti in possession and the ball falls nicely for Lemar, who snatches at a left-foot shot and sends it sailing over the top. A sloppy pass from Rabiot to Silva ends up rolling out for an early corner to Leonardo Jardim's side.
1' We are underway in Tangier!
The teams are making their way out of the tunnel and kick-off will be upon us in just a few moments!
While Monaco may have taken the Ligue 1 title, they've lost their last two matches against PSG and conceded nine goals in the process, scoring just one. They'll need to vastly improve if they are to stop PSG winning the season-opening trophy for a fifth year in succession.

Despite being overthrown by Monaco in 2016-17 and once again failing to mount a serious challenge in the Champions League, PSG are largely the same team this season. Dani Alves has been their only major signing, though reports linking them to a €222m move for Neymar are showing no sign of slowing down. Interestingly, it appears as though the Brazilian right-back will play in a more advanced role tonight. Full team news coming up.
Monaco drew plaudits from across the globe last season as an attacking brand of football saw them clinch the Ligue 1 title and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. However, in the close-season they have lost Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy amd Tiemoue Bakayoko, while speculation around the futures of Fabinho, Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe - linked with a world-record €180million move Real Madrid - rumbles on. They have added a number of young prospects, with Youri Tielemans the standout name.
The football season is back, and we've got the Trophee des Champions between Ligue 1 winners Monaco and Coupe de France champions Paris Saint-Germain in Tangier to bring you! With the top flight getting underway in France next weekend, a confidence-boosting win will be a huge incentive for two sides hoping to challenge for honours once again in 2017-18.
